We all know the health benefits of exercise to the body. However some students don't like physical education classes.Exercise is good for the body, mind and soul.It is a good way of releasing stress and and unwinding. Should Physical Education classes be compulsory?

Yes, I think it is necessary because a healthy body can make the mind healthy also. Exercise has a lot of benefits, not only it can make muscles defined but can boost productivity, will-power, and creativity. It can also force the human's powerhouse of the cell, mitochondria to work harder. The harder the mitochondria work, the happier the person is. Students should be taught about the benefits of what they are doing so they would appreciate and not complain about the aches they gained from moving their body intensely.

I think it should be compulsory. We want our children to be healthy and be active while they are in school. Also, I'm pretty sure that most students love this subject as it's different from subjects that give them headache.

Personally, I am in favor of PE being compulsory at the elementary and secondary levels. Encouraging physical activity in the young through compulsory PE fight child obesity and contributes to forming lifelong habits of exercise. Also, PE is an aspect of school being about more than just book learning – it is about educating the whole person, a holistic education that betters us in an all-around sense, rather than a merely academic experience.

Physical education should be compulsory everywhere. In my country it already is, children have 3 PE classes a week. As important as it is for their body and regular growth it has many benefits for these young minds and teaches them valuable lessons that will help in future, such as dealing with both victory and loss, how to work within a group and as a member of a team, it gives them sense of belonging and teaches them to work hard to obtain results. Sports is beneficial for the healthy development of one's personality.

A sound mind in a sound body is popular saying. It is not enough if we teach various subjects in schools, we need to engage them in physical activity too. Its important for students to learn to play games, participate in athletics and become physically fit and active. Most universities and corporate organizations prefer to give special consideration to those who do well in sports. Obesity among school going children is rising each year, we need to focus on the physical health of our children and it is important to have physical education as a part of the educational curriculum.

For me yes, because it is still for the students' sake. Physical education gives our students time to be more physically active after how many hours of sitting in classrooms. We need to keep ourselves moving as part of maintaining healthy bodies.

I think it should be in grade school and high school as it helps in fostering camaraderie and healthy competition among the kids. In college, I don't think it should be compulsory though. I was one of those who dread waking up in the morning just to attend our PE class back in college.

When I was at school it was compulsory. I think it should be as it encourages a healthy lifestyle and allows young people to get fresh air, spending time away from the class room. But each will have their own opinion

Physical education is taught in elementary and secondary schools, I'm sure worldwide. This will inculcate in the students at a young age the importance of being physically fit.
