Ages 3-5 [Early Years] Playing outside: does anyone really do it anymore?

Playing outside: Does anyone really do it anymore: In our province yes, my child was with her grandparents ajd children their still love to play outside for some reason that our province was not covered a cellphone signal or internet so no reason for rhe children to be addicted on gadgets like some children here in city.

Some people still do it, those who represent a conservative society. Sadly, since generation Z has grown up and they don't have kids and as their priority then we rarely see kids at all, not to speak of playgrounds. Usually parents just sit around being lazy doing nothing, while their kid watches a show on iPad or something.

Unfurtunately, we are now living in a word with less and less active kids running outside the backyards anymore. This is wath technology gives us. It pains me that my niece don't wanna go outside and play. She stays in her room or inside the house poking her IPAD all day long. This resulted to every now and then colds and little coughs. When I'll have a child on my own, I'd definitely play with him/her outside, run around and do gym together so my kids can develop good stamina and super immune system. I myself decided to ride a bicycle doing meetings instead of commuting to work so I can have extra cardio day in and day out. So far so good! Let your kids play outside!

It is sad that playing outside becomes more fleeting as technology rises. I do agree that video games can positively stimulate a child's brain, can improve coordination, and enhance memory, but the benefit that children get from playing outside is irreplaceable. They learn how to explore, how to work as a team, they learn how to become more creative in developing new ideas, and most importantly, they adapt a healthy lifestyle and improve their immune system. Lastly, just by going on a short walk or breathing some fresh air can boost your energy levels and get you in a better mood.
I guess, outdoor activities are more prominent in the provincial areas, but if I have a kid someday I will definitely make sure to get him/her a quality time in nature.

Of course, there are still children who play outside and interact socially in person. However, due to technological advancements, children would rather play video games on their laptops and smartphones as these activities are less physically tiring yet interactive still. Most parents see this as more favorable than seeing their kids play outside as they are able to monitor their children real-time and it appeases their minds with regards to their children's safety. However, encouraging your kids to play outside and interact with other kids is still beneficial. This will improve the social and interpersonal skills of your children. Playing outside also promotes a healthier and a more active lifestyle for your kids.

Basketball, tennis, football and other sports are still played outside. I'm not talking about organised sport but just pick up games. But if you are talking about kids running around, I still see some playing in the park, mostly are with their nanny or parents and It's not as many as before.

I really hope communities will improve outdoor parks that they can encourage young children to play.

Children nowadays prefer to play indoor instead of outdoor. Technologies plays a large role on this. It's better to play outside so they can also enjoy the surroundings and meet new friends.

There are several parks and playgrounds in my area, two parks on my street alone. there is also a high school a block away and a large public square. Kids are playing outside all the time, and there are plenty of parents out there with them too.

Outdoor activity is so important for good health we cant deny our kids that experience, it would be a shame. Not to mention unhealthy. Juvenile obesity and health problems are at an all time high. Its time the kids got away from the screens and out in the sunshine.

I never see kids play outside anymore. I live in a tiny town and the only reason I know there are kids here is because I see them in church. That's great they go to church but It would be good for them to play outside like we used to do also. Remember playing Johnny Tackle until it was dark outside or catching lightening bugs. Fun stuff and great memories.

Hi, it depends on the environment and weather. You can play out when you know it is safe most specially with a permission of the guardian. Nowadays there is no safe zone for kids if there is one who can look up to.

Outdoor activities provide many benefits to children. They are really helping kids to improve their physical fitness, strengthen their bones and muscles, show a positive effect on their mental status, providing overall better health.Doing physical activities in an outdoor space might create opportunities for developing new friendships as well.

In my area, kids play outside a lot.The rate of crime is quite low. They play outside and walk to school alone.Parents worry about accidents more than kidnapping. They form their impromptu teams and play to their fill.It is awesome.

In my town, children are still playing outside. Especially in the summer. You can always hear them when you open your window, they are always playing in their yards or if they are a bit older, you can hear them running on the street. I love that. I am happy that some children are still playing outside instead of sitting all day in front of the computer.

I seldom see children playing in our neighborhood. It's not the same as it was before. Today, most children would rather play video games than go outside.

I still see some kids outside of our home still play but not the games that we used to play before, sometimes they just gather outside to show their gadgets or to just flex it with their friends. I promise my self that whenever I become a parent, I will train my child to play outside and not depend on gadgets. Because I believe that playing outside can develop their physical and metal ability.
