    Concept of the afterlife?

Well this is always an interesting one to ponder, and I am not sure that anyone will ever come to agreements or anything, which is part of the fun of it all I guess. It really does make you wonder about everything though.

What is your favourite philosophy book?

I would have to the ones that are more political in nature, just mostly because that is what I am more familiar with. In that case though I would say The Prince by Machiavelli. If I had to choose a philosopher though I guess you cannot go wrong with some Kant.

Do you believe in the existence of 'soul' ?

I think that I do, and if nothing else it is a pretty good exercise thinking about it. It immediately makes me think of one of the better book I have read The City of God, where there is a lot of good soul talk.

    What's your favorite classic novel?

I would have to say Harold and Maude here. There are some good comedies that I was thinking about instead, but the more I thought about it the more I remembered just how great this movie was. Truly a classic love story with a great soundtrack.

All Ages What is the easiest instrument kids can learn to play?

Well I can definitely tell that it is not a saxophone. I tried that one as a kid and I remember feeling like the dumbest thing ever and then having to realize that I just should not have picked it. Maybe the recorder like others have mentioned, or the flute.

All Ages Guitar: Learning Theory vs Tabs

I wish I could travel back in time a little bit and really speak more to the differences here, but they are certainly there. I have not picked it up in a little bit though, so I am pretty rusty on things like this. Very interesting, though, and maybe I should get back into that routine.

All Ages Taking PE out of schools

I am not sure where I stand on this one. I get it, both sides too, but something about it makes me not be able to really be definitive in a stance. Some days I say get rid of it completely, and it is waste of money. Then, the next day I will see all these kids sitting around doing nothing on...

    Participatory marking

That makes sense, and I know that in the high stages of education this is a lot more common, but then again I would not be surprised to see it at the lower levels too, and I think that I would like that. I know that I did not have much of this growing up, but I think I would have benefited from...

    Facebook as a teaching tool

This is interesting. I do not even have a Facebook account, so I am not really sure what kind of features or new technologies they have really started using, but I am still thinking that I can see the benefits here. You cannot really help but be a little skeptical though, and think that in the...

All Ages Did you study another religion?

I would think that this is really valuable for our students. The more I think about it, though, I can see the arguments of "why" starting to creep up, and I cannot really say I have a great answer. We want to teach tolerance, but you have to question everything about the teachings and I am not...

What do you think about allowing students watch movies instead of reading books?

Well I do not really have an issue with watching movies, but I would not like to see them replacing the books, if that is the case. The way I always had it in school was that if there was a movie, which was for probably half of the books, they were the reward for getting through the book. If...

All Ages Allowing Students to explore the tech themselves?

Well this is something that is a great idea, but of course must be done with care. I do not think that you can just let the kids wild and assume they will use it for good reasons, but that said there are ways to do it. There are protections out there and you can monitor the activities to an...

All Ages Using Google Map To Teach Geography

Well I would like to think that a standard map and globe would do the trick for much of it, and of course there are other computer programs out there. In this case, I would say that it might be best to just leave that to getting directions, and use other apps and programs for the actual...

Ages 3-5 [Early Years] Playing outside: does anyone really do it anymore?

Well I sure hope so. I know that I used to work with kids and that was always my first inclination - but that was partly because I was just unprepared most of the time and it was easy, but still. I think that it is valuable and it should be included into the curriculum, and I would like to...

All Ages More Practicals Or Theory

Well this is tough for me, because I loved all of my theory courses. I like the stuff that really makes you think, and these seemed to do the trick for me. That said, though, I think that I would be foolish to say that they are more important than the more practical, and to be quite honest, I...
