Since I was introduced to the internet or new age technology, I have never ever begun to read and acquire that much knowledge in various issues in such a fast and quick time. Like the whole world was in front of me. From entertainment, weather, political issues, current events, science, religion to anything, all is within my reach with the use of my mighty keyboard and a mouse! Knowledge was never this fast, easy and attainable within seconds. So what's the edge of humans over this newfound scientific knowledge? Less payment for your electric bill?

I am currently reading for an MA in Online Education; however children require both physical education and to learn to analyse data in front of them. The risk of having only online education is anyone can broadcast, including people not sufficiently qualified to talk(write) about a topic.

Development is happening and we are working on an online learning environment at the Open University (OU) & Future Learn (OU subsidiary).

We are also testing VR in primary schools however the funding to get this technology for all students and develop programs of learning will be so high at the moment. Therefore unfortunately at the moment the technology is in an infancy stage and very expensive.

I searched the net and you are right. Some countries are 20 yrs behind in technology. What could be the cause of this great loss? Poor leadership? environment? I hope some countries could help.

I think it will not replace human teachers. AI ( technology ) has a great memory and great abilities but it seems to lack something purely human. Emotions and intuition. And to be a teacher you got to have empathy, you got to love the kids and people. If that is not the case then a teacher is bad. And I think that technology lacks that human trait, emotion. But I can totally see traditional books being replaced by online ones. I think that in future, kids will learn from books on their laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Yes, internet and modern technology have already replaced books in some parts of the world. However, I don't think teachers will be replaced anytime soon as lessons coming from someone who has already studied it and mastered it is totally different from those which are gotten through books. The human touch is what makes lessons easy to understand as it comes from the person who has gone through the phase of the learner and knows best how to teach the said topic.

for sure tech will rule the universe it will just take a little time for it to touch the remaining undeveloped countries but very soon book will extinct totally highest 100 years from now something better than paper made out of tech will emerge and take over making it easy for us to write maybe with our mind, book can never beat that before you no it children will not no what books are just like vhs cassette tape went to extinction.

This might happen in the future because there are now many website who offer great tutoring with less money involve. This method of learning will be preferred by young generation who lives in very busy cities. For sure we will often visit these site and purchase its services. School establishment must also upgrade its services by acquiring technologies that makes the children wants to interact more with the teacher and new strategies in training the teachers to get the best attention from the students.

If you are studying on a particular subject and you can't understand something, you can discuss it with a teacher which can help you understand better, but with a program you can't do it unless there is a link to a FAQ or chat, which still maybe not help you.

Most probably teachers can be replaced by modern technology but their some basic things like interaction ,emotions and understanding that cannot be replaced by a computer although many researchers are reaching to achieve this goal but ,I think the traditional way of teaching is the best .

According to me if u think that a computer can be a good teacher as compared to a physical teacher then it can be right in terms of knowledge and learning point of view but a computer can never motivate you or it cannot force you or punish you to complete the given task .

The things that were in the mind while putting up this question must be like the students will become more smarter, they will not get punished but if we think as a teacher the goal of a teacher is that he wants his students to achieve those goals through his students he wants to fulfill his dreams

If your teacher is a computer I don't think the the students will respect it because we always respect the teacher because of the mutual understanding and a kind soul existing within

Not in the near future, but I believe eventually we will all go into that direction. Due to the increasing bandwidth and the global availability of smartphones coupled with their plummeting cost, we could be looking at a world with potentially 5 billion Internet users in the next few years. Therefore it would totally not be surprising if one day human teachers are replaced by robots or AI.

Within the next 10 years ahead, jobs like Bank Tellers, logistic jobs and the likes will be replaced completely by the new technology, but never will it replace Human Teachers. Teaching isn't something that you just get up and do. It doesn't follow one particular line of OS. I wouldn't even bring this for argument anywhere.

I mean it's already happening right now, all the information you need to know can be searched on the internet. same goes for learning, you can learn anything on youtube and unfortunately, books are getting irrelevant every day.

I think this is in fulfillment to the Biblical prophecy that in the last days knowledge will increase. Almost all the things that we need to know now can be reached through advancing technology.

For me, nothing can really replace real human beings as teachers. Whenever I have a difficult time catching up in class, I try learning through YouTube videos, Google, and all other websites I can find in the internet. This has never seemed to help me because everything I can find on the internet is more or less an overview or a summary, not an in-depth and thorough knowledge of the subject, which is what I need in order to answer difficult test questions and problems. I believe and am thoroughly convinced that asking questions and receiving answers from a real human being saves much more time than randomly typing search queries in the internet and hoping for the best.

Yes. Unfortanutely, internet technology is taking over books and human teachers. Society in general has become lazy and even schools are not what they used to be. We are homeschoolers, and guess what? We do everything the old fashioned way.. You want to know something? Open a book. For every single thing you want to know, and for every single question you have, there is a book out there that will give you the answers.

Well, maybe in some cases, teachers are being replaced by the internet. But, I personally think that teachers will not be fully replaced by the technology. Students can focus more if human teachers are there to monitor them.

NO. I believe there are still people that would love to learn from teachers because they are incapable of learning on their own. There are also people that are lazy enough to study on their own. I just hope that teachers will be patient enough and use the technology to further increase the eductaion system to help people, because there are teachers that takes advantage of the technology so that they can get the most out of their students.

Although technology is changing everything around us I believe that it will not replace books. Only because there will be people like myself who like to keep books in their own libraries. The touch and feel of a book makes it real especially when you read it. I find that the words move deeper and deeper into my mind rather than just reading the same words out of a computer screen.

We like to think that Technology will replace everything but in reality it will not as there will be people who will resist it. I mean just look at those people who would rather use a record rather than a CD because they feel that the sound of a record has more feeling than a plain monotone CD.

I don't think so. Internet and modern technology are great contributions to the education system of the modern world. However, it's function cannot cope the function of the teachers in the life of the students. Internet can duplicate the knowledge of the teachers or even surpass it but they cannot duplicate their heart and values.

I think internet and modern technologies will replace books. Now you can seen live videos of different scientific topics which are not available in books. Even scientific demonstrations that are now possible in class room or laboratories is demonstrated in youtube. But modern technologies can not replace human teachers, because human teachers gives a personal touch to your education. Again teachers helps to tailor the studies suitable for students of different merits.
