Are we referring to teaching students the different countries in the world? If so, I would encourage you to divide your lessons by continent. That way, it wouldn't feel like information overload. Gadgets play an important part in this era so you could have them use it while your discussing your lesson. Make the map as colorful as possible as most people are actually visual learners. It'll be easier for them to remember it.
I think that a great interactive way to learn kids geography is by using pictures and playing guessing games where the winner gets a prize, games are always a great way to get the kid's attention , this way the learning process will be funny and interesting , thus, the kid will focus and learn fast !
