Should a teacher be strict or friendly with students?

It should be a combination of both. Well, no one is perfect, but, I believe that for you to discipline your students, you should be a role model that they can look up to. You should always be a good example to them.

I think it depends on the age of the students. if we are talking about younger students from the age of 10 and below, I think the teacher should be strict so that students will learn how to discipline themselves. but friendliness is also the key to the student's hearts and it would be great for the two if they have a great relationship.

I think teachers are to be good and friendly with their students. I promote friendly teachers than strict ones. Friendly teachers are approachable when you have questions to be asked.

I think both attitude are need in teaching, friendly and strict. Because if you are friendly too much some students will abuse it and sometimes lose a respect to their teacher.

I will choose both depending on the situation. Teachers can be strict inside the classroom so the students will surely focus in every word a teacher would say especially if some of the students are lazy or bored of the subject. And being a friendly teacher during after classes. Because teachers are considered as parents for students inside school premises. Me, myself came and experienced with strict teachers before during my school days but I'm so thankful because I understand the lessons what they want us to learn.

Even the best things in life can be considered bad for you, when there is no balance. I think that there should be a balance between how strict and how friendly a teacher is to the student, regardless of age. I believe this will provide a balanced perspective the student can then adopt in life from this practice.

There must be a time that a teacher should be strict to their students especially during class time. Being strict is like setting a line that the students should not across. But being friendly is also a teachers duty, to care for his/her students. For a student to learn, the teacher must act strict. But after the class hour it's the teacher's responsible to approach his/her students.

No, God forbid! Strict teachers are hated, and students hate their classes the most. Also they fail their exams more often, because of how they cant concentrate. I hated personally strict teachers.

I believe a teacher should both be strict and friendly. During the class, a teacher should be firm on the rules and the expectations from the student. However, he or she should also be friendly to accommodate questions and suggestions from the students. This is quite challenging as students might step some boundaries or will not take the teacher seriously if he or she is too friendly. The right balance on being strict and friendly leads to harmonious relationships with the students.

I believe there should be a balance of the two. You should be frienly to your students so as to make rapport with them and make learning fun and effective for them. However, you should still have to be professional and practice your authority when it comes to disciplining students as well even if it means to be strict at times.

Certain strictness is needed from time to time but should not be practiced as a habit as it might lead to an aggressive behavior approach. The best way to teach students is by meaningful words and explaining to them the consequences of what will happen next r by giving them examples from people`s lives. I will not recommend any physical punishment , Why because when the child grows up he will do the same thing what was did to him/her at a young age. I believe if an individual had good teachers , he/she will always remember them not because of what they have taught but i reckon its because of their behavior towards students.

I believe that teachers are to be friendly to their students. In my own experience, I love teachers who are friendly than those who are so strict.

A teacher should be friendly to their students but yet still set boundaries for them. You can be nice and an authority figure at the same time. This will give the students a sense of feeling respected. This is very important to get the attention needed from the student in order to teach them.

A teacher is a multi-talented person. Whatever style of teaching the teachers implies to their students is up to them as long as the students learn properly. There is so called a boundary between a teacher and a student. And no one should dare to cross that line. Whatever the teacher wishes to do, being strict or being friendly, must be respected by the students.

Mostly students maybe will reply that they like to have a nice teacher. Teacher must have planning in a year of teaching which refers to the curriculum syllabus. If talking about planning then it will relate to a lesson plan. Accordingly, having a lesson plan is prior to the teacher. In order to make the learning process successful teacher must strict to the lesson. So "Strict" is better.

Rather than being strict, I think it's much more better if the teacher can be understanding. Keep in mind that a teacher's main responsibility is to communicate facts and information, teach techniques, open students to positive attitudes, and to convey knowledge. A student who is constantly frightened by a strict teacher will get none of this.

For me, teachers shouldn't be too friendly with their students. They should also be strict for them not to be taken for granted because if you became too close to learners, they will think that even if you don't participate in class that much they'd still have a good grade that's what I have observed.

Yes, a teacher should be strict about the rules in school and in classrooms. In terms of disciplining students, teachers have to be strict in instilling students what they need to learn.

But a teacher has to be friendly as well to be able to have that connection towards the students.

There is a right time to be friendly and a right time to be strict.
