Meditation Space in Schools?

Student life can get hectic, and while some students can find solace in more active pursuits, others might prefer the quiet of a library, or a plain room where they can gather their thoughts. Some colleges already have these, but do you think that all colleges should have a designated breathing space for students to just unwind and relax? It doesn't have to be fancy. Just a room with seats where the students can take a breather when project deadlines and finals week starts getting the better of them.

It was a good idea but I don't think that it would be considered by a lot of students nowadays. They will prefer some home studies or group studies with the convenience of their home. They could help each other and learn with sharing their ideas. It was socializing while learning but in some point. Meditation could still be considered by others who wants to relax and to be alone.

Meditation space isn't really needed because most students will definitely meditate when they feel like it not when you want them to.

It sounds like a good idea but I believe it's unsustainable. Even if there was a space for this purpose it would be crowded after a while so there wouldn't be any peace and quiet which are crucial for meditation. Also, I am not sure that too many students would be interested in this kind of relaxation.

It maybe a good idea but it's not necessary since mostly of the students prefer to be with friends and be loud. They just want to have fun. Whenever they feel lonely and sad they want to be with their friends. Too quiet place will make them bored. I think anyone who wants to meditate knows where to find their comfortable zone. It depends on the person where he can truly find his peace and comfort.

If money is not the problem for the school to have that room, I think it would be better to have it. I am a person also that can study very well when the room is so quiet.

In my country in the Philippines I never heard such place in school for meditation since I knew that it is very rare to have such and this is my first time honestly to hear such information. Well honestly I agree with it because being a student is really stressful and we really need to have a peace of mind so that we can have a convenient life.

Well, in our school, we don't have a meditation space. But, we have a chapel that's always open. It really gives us peace while praying.

The mental health of the students should also be considered by the school . Providing a meditation room will really help the students most especially if they are dealing with many pressures due to class projects or presentations . I have seen so many high school students whining and breaking into tears due to many activities in school . Added to that are the problems at home . An " alone time " or meditation time could at least help them reset their mind and recharge their energy.

I am for the provision of a meditation space in school. I like the news here in our country recently that the university has dog that will provide emotional support for all the teachers and students.

I think that meditation space in school is good to have if possible. Education can sometimes be stressful especially if there are deadlines of assignments and you have not done it yet.

Having a mediation space in school, college or any learning environment for that matter is essential. Increased workload, peer pressure, deadlines and stress from outside influences can lead to blow outs and lack of concentration. So this is a really good solution to the problem!
