All Ages Is History Interesting To You?

History about my country wasn't really all that interesting to be honest. I wanted to learn more about where we came from, not about the past presidents. I wanted to know how we came to create many of the things that we use today like language, not about world wars. I guess I chose to learn the history that I wanted to know, and anyways I had to many unanswered questions about the past they taught us in school.

I chose to consider what might be true or false, and search for my own answers.

Sounds like the history lessons in your country have been written with a political agenda. Perhaps I was lucky in having gone through school with a history syllabus which covers developments in most parts of the world. Of course, it's very much a British view of how things happened because my country was a former colony of Britain.

Now I realize that, if I want to look for other versions of the same historical event, I will have to learn the language of the indigenous people. If I read the version that's written in English, it would most likely be viewed from the perspective of an English person.

I think that more often then not that is the case. I probably didn't like history more in school because they didn't really touch on historical events that I would like to know about. Fortunately we have a great resource at our finger tips, and if you are interested in learning something all you have to have is a internet connection.

Of course history is something important, also, it's one of the most important subjects, indeed, but I don't really consider it interesting since history has never been none of my kind when it comes to subjects, I do not really like reading too much and therefore, history is not for me.

It's not really possible for history to be boring, unless the teacher makes it so. If studying history consists of memorizing long lists of dates and events, then it will certainly be boring. Teachers must make history come alive. This can be done in many ways. One way is to schedule regular field trips to historical sites. It doesn't have to be some place far away. There are many places within a couple of hours' drive from the school which have historical value.

Histоry itsеlf is highly intеrеsting аnd highly соntrоvеrsiаl, but it's dеаd bоring in mоst саsеs tо lеаrn аnd study.
Thе fаult is mаinly in thе wаy it's put tоgеthеr in thе histоry tеxtbооks. Histоry, bеing а mеssy аffаir in mоst саsеs, аrе оftеn shоеhоrnеd intо niсе, littlе, nеаt pасkаgеs with bаsiсаlly оnly twо "sidеs" tо thе issuе аt hаnd (е.g. slаvеry vs. frееdоm in thе саsе оf thе аmеriсаn сivil Wаr).
Histоriаns аrе vеry gооd аt dосumеnting thе dеtаils оf histоry аnd аnаlysing things tо dеаth, but соnvеrsеly givеs thе shоrt shrift tо "whаt if" pоssibilitiеs (еspесiаlly whеn rеlаtеd tо mоdеrn timеs).

If you don't value the importance of the past, history is useless. But whether you like it or not, history has contributed much for the rise and fall of a nation, of the peoples or race, government or a society, among others. I would agree that history is boring for it is a litany of events and happenings in a chronological order. Whatever how you regard history, it gives you value on what you are. You may appreciate your forefathers on how they lived in their time. For me, history is very important. The present could be improved because of the past and history had it all because of recorded events or unwritten accounts handed from one generation to another.

Histоry is highly intеrdisсiplinаry, sо whеn yоu'rе lеаrning аbоut thе pаst, yоu саn think аbоut аll thе оthеr things thаt intеrsесt with thе еvеnts. I think it's a great study of humans and the human mind, specially when you read up on specific people in history, like country leaders. I also find it's good to have knowledge of the past, so as to not repeat Past Mistake, and also to notice any possible patterns that may be inherit to humans.

Yes. I have always been interested in History since childhood. I often scored the highest in History classes. To know that far significant things have happened in the past and all of today is a result of it, fascinates me to an unimaginable extent. The burning of the Library of Alexandria is something I feel the saddest for. I read everything that is available on it.

I would be hard pressed to think of a subject I find more fascinating than history. My father was a history major and instilled in me a deep love for the topic early on. Most of my study has been on the Interwar period, the Second World War, and the resulting Cold War. However, in the past I focused more on ancient history, such as Egyptology, etc.

Yes, because history was my favorite subject, I really love to study the past event's, I want to know more about how people live in the past, how are there ways of living without technology and most of all I love to know different heroes in my country like José Rizal.

I Am not a fan of history subject because of the dates need to memorize, it always jumbled in my head ! hahaha But I know that learning history is important for everyone of us because it is our chance to know where our roots came from and how did they live from the past.

Yes it is interesting because through it we can discover how things have happened to come up to what we are now or what we are experiencing in the present.

Of course! History is a description of the past. When we look back at something that happened long ago, we can not only learn from past mistakes, but also train our analytical skills, as we need to identify genuine information from lots of sources. It also good for critical thinking as it is necessary to draw conclusions and express our feelings about certain events. I was partixpartic intruiged by ancient China and Egypt as a kid.

My favorite subject way back in high school is History. I find history very interesting maybe because i would just like to know what our ancestors life was way back and the way they were before. there is a lot of interesting things you will learn from history classes and until now if given a chance i would still want to attend a history class.

Honestly when I was still studying during those times in school, my favorite subject was history. I really like to study about it because I can able to learn on what had happened n the past which is something that I have never experience before. Through studying history I am able to understand and learn the importance of some people in the past which makes a significant things in our country and for our selves.

I use to find history boring, when I was at school, but then thanks to interesting documentaries and websites, I started to really love history. Nowadays every time I find a history book I have to buy it
