To make history class really fun, the teacher has to do other things than just doing the lecture. I suggest watching historical movies could be fun.

Why not do a drama or a play about history. Let them wear historical costumes too.

Yeah asking them to summarize the previous lecture or giving them notes to take home and learn then come back and sound prepared for the next class.
