All Ages Do you think that religion is an unnecessary subject?

I think that students should not be influenced by the teacher's religion or the religion that the school promotes. What the school should do is to incorporate "Faith in God" in values education.

Religion is schools is very necessary. Every child has to grow up learning a bit of different religions.

Children are very open minded and not prejudiced. A child belonging to one religion learning about the other religions will eventually understand that every religion at the end of the day says the same thing in a different way. Rituals may be different, dogma of religions may be different, but these only solidify the diversity of different cultures that is so obvious in this creation. It brings color to life - just like a rainbow.

Otherwise a child growing and thinking only its religion is correct, will make life hell for everybody else on the planet. "My God or my religion is greater than your religion or greater than your god is the root cause of terrorism". Fanaticism and ignorance is the root cause of violence in today's world.

I believe that religion should be given a high respect. Jesus said to seek first His kingdom and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

I think that religion subject is necessary for students because it is the time that they are going to know about god and word of god from the Bible because not all students has the chance to attend mass every Sunday.

It depends what's inside of the curriculum. If the curriculum is about the History of religion, then I think It should be included in the class. But if it all tells you one religion and tries to impart it to you, then it should not be in class. There are tons of religion but these are just practices, and religion isn't some miracle that would be the answer to humanities secret of some sort. There is no religion that would save you, but there is YHWH (God). The absolute one. Not religion but YAH.

Religion and faith in God are two different things. It is true that the students should be mold with values and faith in God and the teachers or the school administrators should focus more on promoting values formation and faith in God rather than promoting religious sect.

There's nothing bad in learning about religion. It actually gives you more knowledge about the religion you practice. Religion is also a way through which we worship our maker. I would encourage the study of religion in school.

Teaching religion to students should be included in the curriculum. History is taught in religious studies as is faith in God. I believe religion is important to children because you are not just teaching faith or knowledge in God, you are also teaching values and morals. Religion teaches consequences of actions, the difference between good and bad, etc. Deciding to take on a religion should of course be left to the students to decide but there are lessons everyone can learn from religion.

Religion teaches good morals. It ensures we are doing good. We should always be engaged in religion

The subject of religion is a great subject. It would be good to let it be included in the curriculum. It would give the students the chance to develop their religious life.
