Steps:
  1. Think of a few words that have other smaller words inside them and put it on display. e.g.
    Skateboard
    skate, ska, at, ate, board it is up to you if you wish to allow names i.e. Kate
  2. See who can find the hidden word(s), give a short time limit (seconds) so the student must focus, looking carefully at the word you have on display.
  3. Here's a few words that work, please add your own words in the discussions for this resource:
    Traitor, Trying, Enjoyable, catfish, whisper, because, mother, father
Extension/alternative:
  1. Put a long word on display. e.g. antidisestablishmentarianism
  2. Provide a set time for the student(s) to find as many words as possible from the letters, this can be used for a varied length of time.
  3. A few more alternative words: floccinaucinihilipilification - (the estimation of something as worthless), pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis - (a supposed lung disease)

That was a great idea. It seems very entertaining and educational too. This game can engage them to increase their vocabulary as well. However, I just hope that there was no one that have a Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia or fear of long words.
 
Persornally speaking, that is among the best ideas I have ever heard so far, it really will improve the creativity of the leaners as well as their vocabulary, my contribution if not yet known please use : Antidisestablishmentarianism
