What inspires you?

Anything can inspire me, a piece of music, a sentence, an event, my garden, and usually when I'm not looking for it. I keep a list of 'scribbles' and save images for when I get a block. If I can't find inspiration there I take my dog out for a walk and go gaze on the mountains. I want to get a voice recorder as I often forget the exact words by the time I get home.

Great question and topic. Many things inspire me but I would have to say that when I see someone who is extremely passionate about something that is for the better of the world, for example helping people. Then I can't help but be inspired.

For one, Martin Luther King Jr. I am very inspired about his influence and the good that he did. instead of feeling hatred toward people he chose to love and preach that love is what outweighs everything.

I think that many people tend to ignore the things that matter most because some of us think that other things matter. However in reality we will not be in this world long. Everything we obtain here is temporary so the best thing that I think we can do in life is to make it better for those in the future and that is what ultimately inspires me.

When I get in a really thick creative rut, I turn to music. I mostly do VFX editing, and such but music always will bring me out of a rut. If I can put on a song, and imagine ways to manipulate video, footage to flow and groove to that music I get inspired. Another thing that inspires me is listening to people gush about loving their artform, like Robin Williams when he was on Inside the Actors Studio, it makes me want to jump up, write a script, direct a play, etc.

My tumblr dashboard is loaded with inspiring images and humor.
This is my only source of inspiration.
I have an art tumblr that is mainly used for reference and inspirational purposes, anything else goes to my main blog. There's a lot of posts out there in tumblr that makes the wheels in my head go round whenever i'm in a roadblock.

It may come off as funny, or generic but... a break. I go on the internet and browse Reddit. Play some video games like League of Legends and relax. Afterwards, I'll feel more calm and cool and get ideas going in my head. Even when I'm writing things on forums I'll sometimes get mental blocks and can't articulate my thoughts so I'll tab over to another tab and read some forums or watch Youtube videos. Tab back into whatever I was writing and I continue at full speed.

I'm not an exceedingly creative person, and my artistic talents are somewhat limited, but every now and again, I do get in the creative mood. Normally, it has to do with some type of poem that I feel inclined to write, or perhaps a quick sketch I need to release. When I want to feel inspire, I turn to my music. I have a plethora of different types of music on my iPod, and will set it to shuffle, close my eyes, and focus on the lyrics. After a little skipping, I normally find a single line of lyrics or two that will motivate me. I play that one song over and over again as I write or draw.

For art, I am inspired by poetry, by music, by photography and my general surroundings. I am also inspired by the things and the people that I love. That's what is great about art, anything can be turned into inspiration!

Some of the things which help me to overcome my writer's block are to journal about the day's events, use a writing prompt or exercise to get my creative juices flowing. I also like to read a book, newspaper or magazine, or browse the web for ideas. I like to people watch as well to give me more ideas as to what to write about, and to find out what people are concerned about or interested in.

What truly inspires me is the outdoor life.

I suffer frequently from writer's block and none of the suggestions to cope with this temporary blocking have proven to help.

However when I'm stuck with my writing, I put aside what I'm doing and go out to walk down the streets without any place to go in mind, just leaving my feet take control and leads me anywhere.

Enjoying the road, the sunset, the wind blowing in my face or else, is enough to bring back my inspiration, besides by doing this I keep myself in shape :)

I take inspiration from everything that surrounds me- the trees, the falling leaves, the falling rain, the cries of a baby, almost anything under the sun, actually. :) I draw inspiration also from what is happening around me and what seasons have I been experiencing in my life's journey. :)

Great question! I must say i don't really know what inspires me. When something inspires me, i feel excitment flowing in me and leading me in exploring more around it. I can recognize it, but i don't know where it comes from. When i don't feel like inspired, i just let things pass and wait until something more interesting comes around. The worst thing i could do, in fact, could be forcing things in order to satisfy my need and desire of inspiration as it would be "conditioned"...does it make any sense?

Music inspires me. Whether it's something fast and chaotic or slower and introspective, I put the earbuds in and just let the music take me. It helps to put me in whatever mindset the melody carries. I wouldn't be able to create without listening to good music.

What inspires me is the fact of the shortness of our lives. One day, we'll all be dead. It's a sad fact, but we all know it's true. We'll all be gone once our time is done, but what would keep me alive is my ART.

My work will keep me alive, people can read my writings and it would feel as if I'm talking to them from my beating heart. I speak with passion through my writings and my emotions can pass on from my work to my reader.

What inspires me is the fact that once I get my feelings and emotions through art, that will keep me alive.

I hope I make sense. Thanks!

I get inspired by nature. If I ever feel blocked, it's because I have spent too much time with things that are not close to my heart. Too much hard work makes me feel dull and tired, that's when I need to go for a walk in the countryside or, preferably, camping, to re-energise and re-focus.
Without exception, I get inspired by any kind of movement. Be it on foot, bike, car or airplane. I like everything that is connected with movement. So, when I get stuck, I just drop everything and go somewhere different.

I really like german and european artists from the 1920's. I also the big fan of Egon Schiele, so when I found this gif I know that this will be my ultimate inspiration for the future.

Sometimes, whenever I would feel kind of lost, and there's no sense of creativity inside of me, I would just try to relax first, and either listen to music, or watch a movie. These things would then help me be inspired.
