All Ages What age did you start listening to music?

I wasn't into music until I was in middle school, which I was a sixth grader. I remember I took a music course over the summer at the summer camp, and it was the most interesting classes I have ever took. It wasn't too hard because I used to play piano when I was little. I learned music was actually an enjoyable classes to take, well, it was also because it got me into music. What age did you start listening to music?

I can't remember a time when I didn't listen to music, to be honest - I grew up with it. My parents had a huge influence over my taste in music when I was a kid and would always make me mix tapes (at my request), so I was quite into rock and old pop, but I also got into some classical music at a young age. Tchaikovsky was the very first composer I ever listened to and I always went to see his ballets when I was much younger. He's still my favourite composer today because of the sentimental value.

I didn't really get totally into classical music until about third year of high school (so age 13/14) though, but once I became interested, I was hooked! Of course I still love other genres as well.

It's hard to tell. If people play music then you are listening to it. So maybe I'll talk about when I started to actually turn on a radio with the express purpose of listening to music. That would be at after eight grade. I was about 12 then, can't remember right.

I've always enjoyed listening to music. We grew up in a household where listening to music was a normal, everyday thing and though I don't recall exactly when I started making my own choices of music to listen to, but it was early. Music is still an integral part of my everyday routine. I don't think that there will ever be a time when I will be able to say that music isn't important to me. I am actually even in the process of learning how to play the guitar.

I started listening to music from a very early age. My parents love singing and during our bonding times my dad would get out his guitar and we would sing. Music came naturally to me and have always been a fan of all genres. I was also in musical plays and choirs as a kid.

I started listening to music when i was about 2 or 3 years old. Music was always a huge part of my household growing up and there was always some type of music playing when i was at home.

Though, it's always a contradictory fact when it comes to music, as we all as different people probably love listening to different types of music. But, no matter what kind of music you listen to, as long as it's meaningful to you, soothing and comforting; then you would probably feel the way everybody feels when they listen to their choice of music.

Like Williams Shakespeare said in Twelfth Night, If Music be the food of love, play on. A popular quote people like me who read this book in high school have never forgotten till today. No one would probably forget for a long time coming. it has that appealing nature to man as a whole, because music is truly a food to love for some, but for me; it's a food to my soul.

I started listening to music in the beginning of middle school. I listened mainly to the Gorillaz and various songs from video games and anime. I didn't get properly into music until the 9th grade. That's when I started to really explore hip-hop and other musical genres. By the 10th grade my life revolved entirely around music and I was never seen without my iPod. I now have a music library of over 16,000 songs and I'm constantly looking for more.

I started listening to music very early. I also played music for my babe in vitro. It's so funny to see her dance whenever she hears music! She just starts dancing even if its just a commercial! I love music so much that I decided to start a career in it, working in marketing. And like Asaaaron, I bought an 80gb classic ipod so I can load up to 30k worth of songs

Good one for you, it's always like that if you've girlfriends or a girlfriend that like music. You probably just rub off on your taste and choice of music. It's all just natural.

I have been constantly exposed to music since I was born. My parents used to listen to the radio and music cassettes all the time. When I was about 5 I was a Boney M fan and also adored classical music. As I grew older I developed my own musical interests and have done so to this day. These days I really like world music and unusual combinations of instruments and styles. I can't imagine what life would be without music.

I've been exposed to music ever since I was a child. But if we're talking about the time when I started to actively look for songs to listen to, it would definitely be the first year of highschool - because that was the first time I was given my own MP3, haha! Which means I have all the means to place all songs I wanted to place on something without ever telling the reason why, haha!

I honestly can't remember when I started listening to music. Too long ago! As I've grown older I've expanded my musical interest and listen to music more and more. Now, I listen to music almost every minute of the day. Whether it's on YouTube, the radio or my iPod, I always have music streaming. I am in love. <3

I believe I started from I was in my mothers womb. When I go back in my memories as far back as I can.I remember I used to play my mothers radio after coming from school every day, then I would sleep through the night with the radio on playing music. I would also record a lot of those songs and play them back. Those were very early years in my life probably 7,8 or 9 years old at the time. There is not a time in my life I can remember been without music.

I was around eight when I first heard music pouring out of the speakers in NYC (I had just immigrated and the only music I had been exposed to before was the traditional songs in my village) and I fell in love with music - all genres - ever since!

Music is a huge part of my life primarily because of my mother. I was very young when I started listening to music. It was only her and I. Singing and dancing was a classic pass time for us. My mother also loves ethnic music Greek, Spanish, etc. I was exposed to a lot. We still share this interest 30 something years later
