Violence by students

If you have heard of the killing of students inside the campus by another student it is a dreaded thought that parents would be thinking for a long time. If that could happen in that school then it could also happen to our school. I think there should be strict implementation of security. First issue is the prohibition of weapons particularly guns and other explosives that would include knife. Second is the installation of CCTV cameras all over the campus just to give a sense of protection by the monitoring of the environment. My suggestion is to organize a marshal group of students who will serve as the first in line of defense in case there is a violent incident.

It's really terrifying - seeing what a at first glance innocent little kid can do! It really puts lots of things to question, however, whatever security measures are taken it will not remove the main cause - the parents of the kid. Numerous studies claim that if a parent beat his kid, the kid will probably beat other kids too. What the kid sees, it copies. What I think can prevent such horrifying cases is simply a better relationship between the kid and the parent.

Unfortunately, as I said, whatever measures are taken it'll never be enough as the main cause(the parent) is not being worked on!

I've never heard of students killing students inside of a classroom or even in the whole campus, maybe outside the campus, I've heard many many stories about students getting killed outside, in the school that I am studying students are getting killed outside especially in the back gate, I just hope every school has a CCTV camera all over.

I think there should be consequences for a student's actions at school. Most students show behavior signs that get overlooked until they do something horrible. Nipping it in the bud right away would help with this but unfortunately this behavior is ignored most of the time.

This is why students should be encouraged to open up and to have counselling. There may be a Eason why a student acts that way, it's not only the violent students, but for everyone. Everyone can be a target of bullying.

I wouldn't train students as the first line of defense. It would be putting them at great risk, almost sacrificing their lives if there is a shootout or something of the sort. It's better to hire security guards, who are already trained, and implement other safety measures such as cameras, metal detectors, and even a policy of only using transparent backpacks.

The main problem is that sometimes these issues are overlooked because of the sheer number of students. Just imagine giving teaching 6 classes, and each one with over 60 students. It would be virtually impossible to get to know everyone. Even worse, the most violent types are usually introverts.

It's a natural thing, sadly. Though some countries are more or less disposed to it. Growing up in the middle eastern country I can say it happens quite a lot because the environment is somewhat aggresive. People mature really fast and hormons are bumping up.

Putting students at risk is not a good idea. Even if there are student volunteers, such groups and organizations are also prone to being abused by the students. It's not a stretch that someone would use their position as a marshal to bully someone, and get others to join in. Furthermore, the school will still be beholden to the parents if something happens to the children in case they get injured while trying to break up fights.

It's better to hire more security instead.

I think we should aware of that incident we should give justice for that because it will make things worse, I was bullied in my elementary years and it feels I'm sick and tired always I always said to my mom that I don't want to go to school, but she always arguing after year I heard a news that a student killed a student in our campus which is the bully that beat me always I feel sorry to him but justice is justice he must accept what will happen after he killed a student.

It's an alarming situation that we see and observe students misbehaving than we expect them to be. Mostly, of the school administration are looking and finding ways to solve or prevent this situation. It would be of great advantage to monitor a child behavior from time to time by having a guidance counselor visiting rooms for observation. A friendly approach will give the student a comfort zone.

I was unlucky enough to be in a school where a student was murdered. It was and still is a boarding school. The victim was murdered because she'd "stolen" another girl's boyfriend. It happened so fast that it would have been impossible for anyone armed or not to stop what followed.

Parents naturally blamed teachers and the school administration for that student's death but as this happened at night and teachers didn't live in the hostels there really wasn't anything they could have done either.

Since one may not know what is going on in the lives of students, counseling should be offered to all of them regularly. This should help a little in some cases.

And of course other security measures to prevent violence should be in place just in case. For example, compulsory frisking would make it harder for anyone to bring weapons into school.

You did not hear the news of the killing in Texas where 10 students were killed by another student with a gun? The killing was done inside the school grounds and I think the CCTV caught everything. It was really a senseless killing that could have prevented if the school authorities have been strict with the entry of students regarding guns.

This is a big issue for the schools. It was hard to figure out how this could be prevented. A lot of students could have some issues with the other students and could lead to some trouble. I also experience this when I was a student. Sororities and Fraternities are also involve with this but how it can be prevented? It is part of our environment and even students are being recruited by this groups.

It's a rear case as compared to suicide, but if it brings to a lot of curiosity it will be a good idea to improve the security in the school campus from just a security guard to CCTV as well as scanning students for any sharp objects (may be used as weapons).
Children with a notable record of violence should be helped either through counseling or mentored in line with behavior management.

Well, violence happening in the Schools id certainly very unfortunate and when it results in the loss of life of young children then it is very tragic. Every precaution should be taken to avoid such violent attacks happening in the school. Installing CCTV cameras can be one such precaution. I think the most crucial thing that can be done is to increase the number of armed security personnel who are well trained to face any such event happening in the School premises. However, I don't think that students should be involved in this matter as it is not there job. it is the responsibility of the School Authorities to take care of these things.

Bullying is the main root and the start of what we call bullying which technically leads to violence. Bullying is the number one cause of violence it could be for many various reasons. Every student needs to learn self defense to protect them selves in times of danger. Sadly i'm sad to hear this loss of life it is a big issue especially when it's about a murder which rarely happens because most the time it's only bullying that happens around the school campus.
