Using crossword puzzles is an effective method of teaching English. It improves the learners' vocabulary and cognitive abilities. Imagine the teacher spending a whole week on parts of speech and clauses but no practical. Some students switch off and assume that language is boring and even difficult. They become content with the basics and concentrate on just answering exam questions. This results in poor diction. Students should be allowed to create their own puzzles.

I remember my 7-year-old child coming home and showing me his school work for the day with a perfect score. It was a word finding puzzle that their teacher gave them. I also think this kind of method is a good way of exercising a student's brain and giving him/her activities that would be enjoyable but very educational. :-)

When I was growing up I was in love with crossword puzzles, and I still am to this day. I have always credited it with helping my with my vocabulary, and for that I believe it is a very useful tool for teachers. I think that the key is making your own, though, because if you rely on the ones in the paper you really just get used to the answers and your knowledge does not really grow, you just learn a lot of random, strange facts. A good use of them does depend on the material, in my opinion, and if crafted well can really help students engage with the material.

I always loved puzzles as a student and still love them. They are great for learning new words and honing language skills. Anyone intending to learn and master a new language should use them.

Crossword puzzles are great way to enhance someone's vocabulary. This game will introduce you to new words that will help you to understand the language better. It is also an exciting way of learning.

I think puzzles are great way of learning a new language. They are fun and interesting. Also, I think they are good for expanding vocabulary of your native language. Teachers should use interesting techniques of learning, like puzzles, from time to time, to break the monotony of lecturing.

Using puzzles is a great technique in learning a new language. It is fun and never boring instead of just plainly studying it. Though, we also have to consider that each individual have different learning styles.

Puzzles is a great way to help students on the used of their cognitive ability. Most students nowadays are dependent of internet searches and are not even thinking anymore. A puzzle will skyrocket their braincells a bit.
