Too Much of a Good Thing?

My undergraduate philosophy profession asked me this question: Is there anything in the known world that you can never have too much of? "Oxygen" isn't the answer, as too much oxygen can lead to oxygen toxicity. "Water" and "food" aren't the answers, because consuming too much of either can kill us.

What do you think? Is there any tangible good that we can never have too much of?

How about sex? Even if you did die from it, at least you'd die with a smile on your face - although if it were a man it may be difficult to screw down the lid on the coffin! Then there's laughter - they do say that it's the best medicine, and recent research indicates that it can actually strengthen the muscles of the heart. Other than that, I think you have me stumped.

Well it depends on what how one defines tangibility.
I say love. You can't touch love, nor can you actually feel love, but we as humans can not survive with out it. :)>-

I like that clearsky. Although it is intangible it is true.

People give love or receive love and they are the tangible part of the love equation. We can never get enough of people. The uniqueness of people will mean we will always learn, grow, love, share, create together or destroy together as the case might be.

Aye, "love" was precisely the experience that I had in mind when I used the word "tangible." It is one of many intangible qualities that you can never have too much of, along with happiness, peacefulness, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

I do like the idea of love being the one thing that you can never have to much of. It makes sense, as humans are tactile and emotional creatures. I believe that no matter what personality someone has, they crave the attachment from other human beings.
