Source book study

It is important that students devote some their time to study reference books like the bible and the dictionary. These source books contain most of the information and that is why they are used for reference. They form the bedrock of teaching CRE and English respectively. Such books should be allocated study time for learners to improve on their proficiency.

How is the Bible a reference book? I'd rather students read "A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," in that case. Dictionaries and thesauruses, though, are fundamental. One cannot build a vocabulary or hold colorful conversations if they are unable to comprehend and embellish on what they are saying. When I help people learn English, I often have them respond to writing prompts that ask them to utilize vocabulary, thus urging them to pick up a dictionary and not only learn the meaning but to internalize it as well.
