Pencil and Eraser .

This is short but meaningful. :) Very inspiring. Thanks!
Thank you. This story reminds me of me. I'm like the eraser. I've always have peoples back, good people that is. But more importantly, I have my loved ones back all the time none stop. I always run to them when they really need my help. I love to see them happy and satisfied. I'm happy when they are happy and I don't stop until they are. I don't worry about my own needs because I know my needs will be taken care of because I will make sure of it.

My family is the world to me and when something is not right I play superman;). I am that extra hand that people ask for. My only thing though is to try to help them were they can do things on their just in case I'm not around to play superman. Inspiration!

Wow, you have a big heart! Putting others' needs before your own is not something a lot of people can do. But I agree with you, I will also do anything for my family. I know they'd do the same for me.

Wow! You are a modern day hero mate! I like you and I wish you luck. Both you and your family. It is good to know that there are still some people who think the way you do. I though that the world is full of negativity at this time and people like you should be idolized for staying so real.

Hmm I'll be the one to say it:
I don't find anything special about this post in anyway.
I thought this was supposed to be a poem, and then I noticed that I was in the text forum.
I have looked at the many positive posts on this, and I just don't get it. Whats so special about this
post?

What's special in this allegory is that we find and learn valuable life lessons from everyday ordinary objects. We always seem to overlook these mundane things, but creative people, like the writer of this text, find ways to relate them to our feelings, emotions, and dealings with life.

I liked this story. It is a great metaphor of my life and the relationship I have with my parents. They help me when I make mistakes and help me whenever I need it even though I might not ask for it, I still appreciate it.

What a happy world we'll have if we all possess the boldness of the pencil eraser - the willingness to sacrifice and the ability to forgive. That was so nice.

I ADORE this sentiment!! Specially the last part of your post; the willingness to sacrifice and the ability to forgive? It's 9 words that together
make such a lovely and moving thought. Can I use this please?

The message is so simple, yet so powerful. I will echo everyone else's opinion that this would be an amazing children's book. This was so meaningful to me and I feel like kids need to know that there are people like this in their lives. Awesome!

I agree with the previous posters: definitely a great idea for a children's book. Beautiful example of how something short can be packed full of double meaning. I love how just a short snippet of dialogue can contain an entire universe of meaning within it. That is the beauty of children's books. Simple can convey axioms much more clearly sometimes than elaboration. With too many words can come confusion, but when we boil things down to the essentials the true meaning comes out. You have done that beautifully here.

I shared this story with my 9 year old son and he actually cried. He got it. The message is so simple yet so powerful. Thanks again for sharing this.

The pencil and eraser always had a somewhat ambiguous. I like the idea that transmits the text, and operates very well that strange relationship between these two objects related to writing and drawing. It's a nice creative experience. Thanks for sharing.

Very well said....and if this point was included I think that yes, it would make a great children's book! We need more books that relay messages of good moral value

This dialogue is so sweet, it made me smile :)
I like the way you made these simple things alive by creating a dialogue that doesn't only speak for themselves, as mere pencil and eraser, but also speaks for us humans.

Very cute! And I agree with the message being really strong.

Has anyone here heard of the band Vitamin L? They sing these kind of moral songs that are meant to teach lessons. That's what this reminds me of!
