My amuteur work

Well, I have been looking around the forum at everyone's work, and thought that I should share some of my work. Now, before looking, I want you to know that i suck and these are only my first attempts at making animations in Gimp, so keep that in mind :P

Gimp is an amazing program, especially considering that it is freeware. Have you used Photoshop or another professional (i.e., non-free) graphics editing software? I have not, so I'm not sure how Gimp measures up.

Flash is also another great program for creating animations (my edchat.net signature is something I created with that program).

As a great friend of mine once said, it's not the quality of the work that matters, it's the power to try that counts. I'd love to see some of your work as it progresses, I admire animators in the making :P

For a first that is good. My first half decent animation was like that. I used Pivot. It's not as bad as you think. I like how the colours just keep changing and never stop! Don't give up. Keep trying and you'll get a lot better.

they might be your first attempts but they look promising. i hope to see more and better works in the future and i believe you will create great works

I admire anyone that can work with graphics -- especially animated ones. It takes both sides of the brain co-operating together to bring out any meaning, and you've done it. Very good.

I have never tried to make anything in Gimp, so I don't know how difficult it is to make animations in it.
I think you made a really great first try, but you should read a couple of tutorials.

Try using Flash. It's very simple and easy to use and it has a lot of tools too. I suggest you try it. I made a lot of animations using Flash.

You are off to a great start! Keep at it. The fact that you took on the new program and came up with a working image, is half the battle. You will continue to do better.

With GIMP this is really possible and I think it is a good free software to start practicing animations of this kind. For an amateur, I think you have done a good job. I won't say that it is magnificent but it is truly a work of art from you. I appreciate it a lot. Since this was posted back in 2010, I presume that he is already a graphic artist by this time. Anybody agrees?

This is rather impressive considering you don't have a lot of experience and are using freeware. I wouldn't be able to get this far. Keep with it and I am looking forward to see more stuff.

A little rough at some points, but for being a first creation it's solid. Definitely more than I can do, lol. Keep it up! You only get better with practice. I suggested trying Flash as well, by the way. I'd like to see some of your future work posted and see how you progress!

For a first attempt those are good, I'd say next time work on making the animation more fluid (but who wouldn't do that). A little rough, but a solid start. Nice work.

Not too bad, if it's one of your first. Rather choppy, but I'm sure you've got loads of room for improvement if you started with that. Remember, nobody was born a professional, so keep at it! :)

Not that bad. Since you're just a beginner, it's already given that you're not yet an expert at making animations. Anyway, keep striving. :)

It's a great start, no body was born taught so we have to start some where. Gimp is much more powerful then most people give it credit I do have Photoshop but still use gimp every once in a while.
