Monetary prizes for honor students

I was surprised to learn that in some public schools here there is a monetary prize given during the so called recognition day to honor students at the end of the year. We didn't have that in our school and I think that is one good motivating factor not only for the student but also for the parents. The prize money will go a long way especially for the poor students in the rural areas. I've heard that those schools were seeking sponsors for the prize money and they never fail to do that.

Wow. That's great. When I was still studying, our school offers a scholarship to 8 students with remarkable grades among everyone in the school.

I never heard something about the monetary prizes for honor students. In my school before, we will get some discounts for our tuition fees when we are honor students depends on your grade and it could also help to reduce some payment on tuition fees. Monetary prizes for honor students could also help in different ways. The students or parents could use it on their future.

When I was in high school, out teachers would offer cash for students who performed well in national or regional examinations. This in a way did encourage some kids to work harder but there are some who didn't even bother because maybe they knew that no matter what they did they wouldn't score high marks in a particular exam.

I do believe monetary rewards can be good at motivating kids to study more but instead of giving one cash prize for best the student, it should be split up so those who actually make a good effort to attain good grades can feel like their efforts are being rewarded.

Monetary cash for an honor students is a big NO for me Because the main reason for a student to go to school is to learn NOT to get money. It is not a contest. It is like sending a wrong message to the students that if you want to get a prize money in particular is you should be an honor student.

There is a foundation that I know of giving cash for their honor students. It is to motivate the students to do well in class more.

I agree. That was a great idea that can inspire the students to study more. However, if this kind of motivation should be implemented, the Department of Education and the local government unit, together with the school administration should unite in this endeavor.

Rewards are often necessary when it comes to helping students achieve their academic goals; however, they must be used correctly and in moderation in order to be effective.

Money for good students already exists under the name of "scholarship". Money is a powerful motivation for students to study harder, but it must not remove the truth that studies are a student's main responsibility.

I had no idea till present that there are some schools that are rewarding their best students by giving them monetary prizes.I find it as a very good idea, as this can be motivating to students, to a certain degree, to strive more in order to achieve better results in learning.Besides, there are some students who don't have good material living conditions,so monetary rewards can come in handy for them.It would be recommended to introduce monetary rewards for the students in all the schools in the future as well.

Monetary prizes for honor students: I didn't heard any monetary prizes in grade school ang high school but in the school where I finished my college studies every semester after the final theres a recognition for a those students who has maintain their grades as above average and the school give them some money for their achievements aside from being scholar.

As far as I know, there is no existing institution or schools near our community with that privilege. Nevertheless, I also agree to give monetary prizes for honor students. When I was studying, our school only gives discounts to tuition fees for the honored students on next school year. With that, the student can only benefit from it as long as he or she studies on the same school. Hence, monetary benefits are much better since a student can already use it as soon as he or she receives it.

When I was in school, we had a prize giving day every year to mark remarkable achievements of students in every grade. Students were given cash prizes for being the best in a particular subject in their grade and the recognition of being called out amidst parents and other students was a wonderful boost and encouragement to all students that hard work would be rewarded.

I was the recipient of many monetary prizes when I was in school. I was the best in academics for 9 consecutive years and every year I used to wait patiently for the awards ceremony to commence. It was a proud moment for me and my parents receiving the prize from a renowned chief guest. Monetary prizes encourage the student to perform better and also at the same time motivate others to get their chance too.

Financial incentives can be very helpful, especially if a student plans to go on and complete higher education. It's expensive to go through college here, so any kind of financial help certainly can go a long way. I think it's a great way to encourage people to continue their studies.

Yes! That is a great idea! Money is a great incentive to work towards. This will teach students to get ready for the work world when they finish school. It also could help those students that are not as well to do as the other students in class. I love this idea.

This of the poor students who strive to finish schooling even if they have to walk to school. The monetary prize will surely give them the inspiration to work even harder in their studies. And I guess it is not only the students but also the parents who would say that the prize money for an honor student will help them like they can afford to buy new clothes and other things for their necessity.

It could also be a great way to motivate students and at the same time it would also be beneficial to students who are financially challenged but are doing their best in school. They are learning at the same time earning something that could at least help meet their daily needs.
