Is bullying still prominent in schools?

I haven't witnessed any bullying since I have moved to USA. Is bullying still going strong in schools? If yes, what are the repercussions that parents and school faculty are taking?

I think these days bullying is (sadly) still very prevalent - but it's really moved to more of an online/technology based realm. Students use things like social media or cell phone messages to bully others, and I think that's where it can be hard for teachers to know that's happening. It's something we all need to be aware of though!

In our schools bullying is very common. Private schools are very strict on bullying issues and generally speaking, they even restrict the student that is found to buly other students. However, in community schools, the school administration does not take such cases seriously.

I think bullying is always around us especially in schools because the children are not really aware about bullying. One bully who was interviewed reasoned out that he was feeling inferior so he tried his powers if he was superior against his classmates. Maybe schools should have a reminder against bullying so the classmates will be aware and if a bully will be reported then that will discourage the potential bullies in the school.

It seems to me that bullying has always existed and will continue to exist for a while longer.

Maybe before we called it differently or we were not so aware of its effects, any initiative that school institutions undertake to minimize or eliminate it is good, but I think that better than any of those strategies, it could be the very teaching we give to our children at home, the modeling we give and the awareness and sensitivity we can achieve in our children, making them aware of the effect of acting inconsiderately with their peers or with any other person.

I reckon bullying is still prevalent in schools , its hard for teachers these days to know the situation as students use various kinds of mediums in order to accomplish their bullying activity. One of the examples are smartphone apps which allows them to post anything on social media and as result the victim suffers emotionally and might lead it rage. I would say teachers should interact privately with the students who are being bullied and support them by making the other person understand how a victim feels when he/she is bullied in front of the people. It is quite common these days as a lot of people from different countries are facing it when they migrate to another country.

Bullying is still prevalent, and the sad fact? It doesn't only happen in schools. It happens everywhere even on the internet. Parents having an open communication with their child/ren is a good way to know if there's a bullying issue with the kids. Being in tuned with the child is a good way to tell if there's something going on. Now with schools, I can say that it would depend on how schools handle bullying cases. Of course most cases are dismissed especially if the family of the bully are well off. And yes it happens I've heard and seen it many times.

I'm not sure about USA but I do know that it still happens in Australia. Bullying has evolved in the way that the kids resort to different forms of threats compared to what used to happen before. With the popularity of social media in the last decade, nowadays, kids are sometimes cyber bullied buy peers as well as other adults.

Cyber bullying is the use of technology to harass, insult, threaten, and/or intimidate another person. 12 It is increasingly in the spotlight as children and adolescents have easier access than ever to technology and online communications and engage with this technology on a daily basis. Victims of cyber bullying may experience higher levels of distress than victims of traditional bullying. Cyber bullying has been linked to depression, social anxiety, reduced self-esteem, substance abuse, and poor academic performance.

On the other hand though, technology has allowed for better controls on checking bullying in schools across the world and hopefully will help eradicate bullying from the face of the earth.

I have never witnessed such behavior when I was in school.I think in school a teacher has to watch for bullying to put an end to it, if it is possible. The parents and/or the teachers need to protect the targeted child but they also need to explain to bully why it's wrong acting that way and try to discover the real motivation behind it.Every school should introduce special hours every week to dedicate to how children should protect themselves when it comes to bullying.Every kid who is bullied or his friend is bullied and needs help should report to school staff or tell their parents, so they can take measures and keep the situation under control.

I think bullying never stops. And I think the best solution for this is to teach kids nowadays how to protect themselves when a bully attack them. teach them how to defend themselves. teach them how to fight back and not be scared. bullying needs to stop now.

Bullying is ubiquitous, and just because it's not visible doesn't mean that it's no longer happening. If anything, computers and the internet make bullying a lot more prevalent thanks to the anonymity that the latter provides. It's easier to distance yourself from sanctions if no one knows who you are, after all. It's made a lot of cyberbullying even more vicious than the old practices, though it's more psychological than physical these days.

There really needs to be an update in the way bullying is treated. More often than not, people are shielded by the the higher ups thanks to the latter's desire to keep the school's name clean. It's definitely not good for students' well-being and growth.

Bullying is always present, it has been since forever and it always will be. It only changes its form and progresses with the ways of society, so now most often there are examples of bullying through the internet and social media. Every school must have the team for prevention of peer bullying which should definitely include a psychologist and a pedagogue.

You are right that bullying is always here with us although most incidents of bullying are slight and not reported at all. Recently there was a celebrated case here where bullying of a high school student happened in an elite school. So many reports of past bullying were seen in social media which means the incidents were always happening but the victim just let it pass because making an issue would involve their family.

I think bullying still exist especially in school. A lot of children with different personalities and backgrounds are still struggling to have a free bullying zone. Lucky for those who never get bullied and are strong enough to fight for their right. Children who are bully usually experience abused from their family. They just want to seek attention and want to show their dominance to others.

I think bullying is still present in some schools especially in private schools. Cyberbullying also is common now and it can cause depression to those who are being bullied.

Bullying is still present in schools. Its good that there was one incident in our country that was caught on camera. The one that bullies was expelled from the school.

Is bulling an inheritance (genetica), if yes then bulling is and always will be there , the feeling of being superior over others makes someone feel like they can do anything to others, most people also tend to say that some people who show infriority are the most targeted ones.
But anyways , I don't like bullies as well as the act of bulling others. Schools should should put some strict rules that don't encourage bulling.

Bullying is an epidemic. It is rampant, widespread, pervasive and the effects can be catastrophic. It occurs in our communities, in our schools – and sadly – even in our homes. Bullying statistics are staggering, scary and merit serious consideration and immediate action

Yes. I think that bullying still prominent in every school and other areas in our country especially now that bullying can now also happen in social media. We cannot stop others to bully our child in school but we have to teach them how to protect themselves from this.

Yes, bullying is still and so prominent in schools. And it must be stop at all cost.

School official, parents and authorities must give full attention to this matter. The future generations must be guided properly in the proper manners and conduct. Children and students must be protected in all aspects to secure their bright future. Bullying can affect children's or student'spersonality and may cause harm to them as they grow older.
