I've noticed the craze lately for Hit Training workouts that use 15 second active rest intervals before doing something more heart pumping like 'blurpees.' An example of this would be to squat down then push your legs back so that you are in a push up position. Then re-enter the squat position quickly and stand or jump up with your hands extended in the air. This can be done rapidly up to 100 times depending on your strength. You get the same effect from doing pull-ups without the need for equipment. Then after doing 45 seconds of these, you do a 15 minute light jog and then go into the next 'Hit' high intensity activity like a set of jumping jacks. There are a variety of different kind of jumping jacks and squats one could do to create a good Hit Training workout. I remember doing basic jumping jacks and sit-ups in school. But I was wondering if anyone has incorporated this into their PE classes? What do you think would Hit Training Workouts be a good idea for students of PE?
