Hello everyone,

I have just discovered TAG and I am hoping it will be a fun place to get involved in.

From time to time I get the creative bug and a huge desire to make something of my own. Sometimes it's music, and sometimes I write. I recently had the idea to write a series of short stories, each less than 1500 words. This limit has several aims: firstly a story this short can be read easily and quickly by a casual reader; it can also be written fairly quickly; and lastly I believe that creativity arises from constraints, whether self-imposed or otherwise. About a month ago I wrote my first 1500 word short story, called Story A (no prizes for guessing what the second story will be called!)

I openly admit I am not very good at English, besides a basic grasp of spelling and grammar, and GCSE English B grade. Despite this, I really enjoyed writing the first of my short stories, and stumbling across TAG makes me feel like it might be the right time to share my work with the billions of men and women connected to the net (remember when it was called "cyberspace"?) I would also love feedback and corrections.

Can anyone point me to the correct place on TAG to submit a short story? I was thinking of posting in the Essays section, but I'm not sure.

You're introduction was very nice! and lengthy but really nice as well, I hope to run into your stories over the forums. I can also ensure you to see that you will get lots of feedback from your stories and anything else you need help with! Well where I go for stories would be. Hope you enjoy the forums!

There shouldn't be any specific word count requirements for short stories, I think. The short story I wrote for a reflections contest was supposed to be 2000 words or fewer, but I recently wrote a story that ended up being almost ten pages long. I think it was Poe who said a short story was basically any that could be read in one sitting, but he must have done a lot of sitting since many of his short stories aren't so short.
 
Hi, I just discovered this place as well. I'm just getting started writing my first novel so I think this will be a great place to workshop some ideas. Until now, I've been working odd jobs, writing music, and seeing where my muse takes me. Glad to have found this place!
