Do You Like Math?

I like Math in a sense but I couldn't say that I really love it. It is used pretty much every day of our lives and Thea's what I like most about it. Back when I was still in my elementary years, I used to be good at it but things changed when I went to high school. I guess I wasn't able to catch up with the complexity of the subject. I really admire and have high regards to people who are really good in Math especially the complex aspects. :)

I used to hate math plus the math teacher because I used to think that math was there just for exams. This made me to avoid some math classes when I was in high school. I started hating doing math when I was in lower primary. Fortunately, when I started applying math in my field work, I had to sit down and do some calculations, which made me to like math.

Its about the process of getting the right answer which makes this my favorite subject. Its kind of like, you get the validation at the end of it all, that you were right and the process which you used is right.

besides at an academic level, it is one of the most scoring subjects when you compare it with the other subjects in your syllabus and that simply makes it my favorite subject due to one more reason.

I have learned to appreciate mathematics over time. When I was a boy, I remember to have had a fair share of aversion to it, but as I got older and began knowing the practical applications of mathematics in our everyday lives, I valued it more and more.

The modern world is based on so many practical applications of mathematics that it would be frankly impossible to think of the world as we know without it. Statistics, engineering and many other branches of science that have given us so much use mathematics widely. Maybe if we were taught how valuable is the science of numbers is since we are very young, it would take less time overall to appreciate it and perhaps there would be many more students interested in knowing the amazing things that mathematics enable for all of us by being an essential part of them.

I came to be infatuated with math when I bumped into a financial accounting journal in our compound when I was a nursery school lie. I was fascinated by the plus and minus signs. When I joined primary school, our math teacher was a harsh lady and this made me fear the subject. I only came to recover during my final exams and duly passed. But old habits die hard and I neglected the subject again in high school. I have now come to like the applied aspects of the subject.

I think what can make people like or hate maths is the way it's taught. I was lucky when I was still in school. I had two very good maths teachers that got me interested in the subject.
