Do you believe in God?

Faith is what keep most people, including me, move forward. Believing does not require flesh to be seen, believing is coming from the heart. You know for yourself that he is there though he is not seen. We may have our own different religious belief, but this belief is by far the reason why we strive to do better and become of service to others.

I was a believer of God, in his benevolence and goodness. I come from a family with strong faith in the almighty. But I grew up seeing such horrible things around me, and the kind of misery I've been put through, I can't help question his existence. I used to pray so hard, every single day, but nothing happened. When I was going through a really rough time and had no one to turn to, I prayed to God for comfort, but I cried and prayed in vain.
Still, I'd like to believe there is someone out there, watching over us all, someone who cares for us. Maybe not 'god' of any particular religion, I wouldn't want to tag Him with any name, just a power bigger and beyond our understanding. Something is obviously there...whether or not that power cares, only time will convince me again, or not.

I do not believe in God. I'm atheist, and find many scriptures in the bible appalling for the simple fact they are downright wrong. Not wrong as in against my opinion, but morally wrong.

I think from a purely logical point-of-view, it can be silly to ask if someone believes in God. Their isn't a logical or evidence-based rason behind the belief that there i a single sentient being that governs morality, physical matter, emotional well-being, that is also responsible for creation, judgement, and the interests of man. It's only because of the normative nature of Christianity and Islam that we say 'do you believe in God?' Why shouldn't ask 'do you believe in godS?' or 'do you believe in a metaphysical spirt or spirits?' The existence of the monotheistic God has no corroborative backing. What is often mistaken for backing though, is normative belief, which is in no way indicative of a truth about reality. When we all thought the world was flat it did not actually make the world flat.

That being said, I think the best defense for a belief in a spiritual or metaphysical entity outside of ourselves is rooted in experiential and emotional claims to a 'feeling' or intuition. I'm not spiritual myself, but I respect and praise the opinions of those who search for answers about life and existence in earnest, regardless of whether or not they are in agreement with me. Monotheism, doctrine, and dogmatic belief eliminate the earnestness from the quest for answers, though. The ascertain that God is a logical and conceptual fact that is indisputable about the universe shows a great acquiescence of the most beautiful part of human consciousness; the capacity for inquisition and independent thought.

I was raised in Christian by my parents and majority of the people surrounding me are also born Christians. So I can very well say that everyone, including myself, here believes in God. Growing up, my siblings and I would always attend bible studies and it taught us all about God and our existence. I really believe that God made us and also everything that exists around us. Inspite of the studies of science, I strongly believe that there's an Almighty One that exists out there to guide, teach and give us strength whenever we needed it.

So now, I am curious as how everybody thinks about God and if He really exists.
Do you believe in God? Why or why not?

Actually, the science community has long agreed that the more they look into the existence of things, the more it becomes obvious that there is God. Scientists studying the space and the stars, for example, have acceded that the universe is so amazing and perfectly created, it could only have been created by one powerful entity. But centuries before they have even realized that, Einstein already have stated that it's actually science that proves the existence of God. He said "science without religion is lame, but religion without science is blind".

I believe in Him. I have only to look at my son to know that He exists.

Yes, I strongly believe in God! I grew up in a Christian household and accepted Jesus into my heart around six years old and my heart has been forever changed. There have been multiple times when I have felt the presence of God or an Angel surrounding me. As well, many prayers of mine have been answered, maybe not right away, but nonetheless answered. Also, I have experienced such strength through the Lord during many of my hardships, that I know I would not have been able to overcome those obstacles without His help. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that there is a God and that He is very real! Hallelujah, thank you Jesus for your gift of salvation!

If you are a religious parent and your teen is having questions about the realness of God, the link below leads to an article about how to address their question appropriately so that your child is confident that God is real.

I honestly do not know. I would hope so because it would answer a lot of questions. But I feel like religion is a comfort mechanism in some sort. It gives a comfort in trying times. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. And I have accepted the fact that God may just be some figment of my imagination that I use to keep me going in the rough patches of my life.

I do believe in God, and I have an absolute faith in Him. I don't care about all those scientific theories claiming that there's no God. All I know is God is my savior, and I would stand strong no matter how tough the persecution might be.

I bеliеvе in Gоd bесаusе I'vе еxpеriеnсе rеdеmptivе аnd trаnsfоrmаtivе influеnсе in my оwn my lifе thаt I fееl trаnsсеnd nаturаl еxplаnаtiоn.

I was born in a Christian family. My mother was a devotee and my father was an active member of their Church. And us, their children are following their example. Catholicism is the major religion in our place. But my parents belong to an independent Catholic. Now they're dead.

When they're still living they do give us the freedom of religion for our own choice as long as we believe in God. Now, we are a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 37 years. We believe that we found God, especially Jesus Christ as our personal Redeemer and Savior.

It is our strong faith and the workings of the Holy Ghost that lead us to be baptized in the said Church. "We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost." This is the 4th articles of faith in the Church that we believe.

I believe there is a natural force labeled as God that influences certain things to occur not only in our world, but also in our universe. I'll leave my answer at that so it stays as relevant as possible.

I believe in God because I know He is real and I can feel His presence. The proofs for God, are all around us. We all are not just a body, but we are a person who consists of 3 parts: Body, soul, and spirit. We Christian can "Feel the presence of God" which is part of that discernment of the spirit. If there is spirit in us then there must be the spiritual world, which is eternity because spirit is the energy that cannot be destroyed, it will exist forever and ever. Body is only a shell for us to live on this earth, once the spirit left the body, the body will just rot away to dust again, for it was made from dust, thus come back also to dust.

I believe in God. The heavens declare the glory and the firmament shows his handiwork. The Bible was not written to prove the existence of God. It is a proof that there is God.

Yes of course! I do believe in god even though I don't have the chance to see him but because of my faith in him. In every problem that I encounter I just pray to him and ask for his guidance and mercy, and most of his answers are on time. It is true that his always on time to answers all our prayer ... just have faith in him.

I was born a Catholic and raise a Catholic, I believe in God the Father almighty creator of heaven and earth, i do not believe the existence of any other God aside him.

I believe in God. I might be a bit of a backslider due to some reason but if I did not have an ounce of faith in me during the darkest time of my life I might not make it through. God is not visible in the eyes and only those who truly believe in him can make it.

I am a roman catholic where we believe in God, but honestly there is some part of my life where I asked my self, 'Is there really a God'? specially when I am on the lowest part of my life or there is a down fall in my life. I once asked my self, 'If there is really a God so why there is poor and suffering?', then I attended a retreat and our retreat master told us, there is a suffering because the people our sinners, just believe in God and he will fix the rest. Which is true. We cant see the wind but it is there, it is like God, just because we cant see him, it doesn't mean he didn't exist. Always pray and ask for forgiveness, do it with actions.
