Do dreams mean anything?

I really don't think dreams are prophetic in the sense that they tell the future, but the may give you ideas as to different ideas or strategies to employ in your life. Obviously you don't want to try the more absurd scenarios, but they may point you in the right direction nonetheless. Your subconscious making a suggestion as to an action to take really isn't as strange as it sounds, though.

In Psychology there is what they call as "dream analysis", this is in relation to the Freudian theory that simply implies that dreams are repressed desires. In other words, what we dream are memories or simply the desires that we wish to happen. Like all other theories, this can still be negated if other proposition with proofs are presented.

I don't know much about the supernatural element of dreams (if there is any such thing) but from the point of view of psychology, dreams are a manifestation of your subconscious and unconscious minds. It is said that we use only 10% of our consciousness since the full impact of the whole would be too much for us to handle. Our mind is able to perceive and analyze much more than we are aware. So even if we dream of monkeys jumping by the pool side, for all you know it could mean something. Those who frequently dream of falling down, missing a step, falling off a bike and such, are fighting feelings of insecurity. To go into this study, you would have to understand the psychology of the human mind first. It's really very interesting! :)

I've discovered that recurring dreams I had been having stemmed from trauma and emotional distress. Once I started working on overcoming these things, the dreams stopped.

I think dream is as a result of what we spend most of our mind on for a long time or what we trouble ourselves with, it can also be a way of foreseeing something depending on your beliefs.
[DOUBLEPOST=1581362105][/DOUBLEPOST]I had a dream about being chased by dogs and I told my friends who interpreted it to be so scary that I thought I was being hunted, but I had to focus on believing it was just a dream and because I was actually scared of dogs.

I'm not quite sure if dream do really happen. I mean I have had a lot of dreams, some of them good and other pretty horrendous I don't what to think that it can ever occur in real life. I might just be a product of our constant imagination but not something that reflect our future.

I don't believe that our dreams means something, because based on a study 80-90 percent of our dreams is negativity, it includes crisis, deaths, and unlucky things that happens to us. I believe that we are experiencing dreams because our brain is functioning and it is just showing our fears, it is like resting, but when it rest it start to show things that we don't want to happen or the things that we want to happen.

Its a yes and no answer. There are some physical happenstances that can influence dream: like fever, or an interesting occurance shortly before bedtime.

But that doesn't negate the fact that some of the time, very few a time(at least for me), dream can have a noteworthy meaning.

I've personally had dreams about a death before it occurs. Now usuay if I did not say my prayers, perhaps after forgetting such terrible dreams, it is usually the manifestation of what I dreamt about that jolt things back into my memory.

Many people wouldn't agree that dreams have any significant meaning, and maybe its because they haven't had any personal experience of having a dream happen in reality, and its just fine. Only it shouldn't become a means to seek to negate testimonies of other who have had such experiences.
