Dislexic geniuses

Some students or pupils are very poor in language skills which is evident in their written and spoken word. What intrigues me is that these same students excel in other subjects including those with a heavy input of language like the humanities. It is sort of a paradox. I know of a classmate who only failed in English but excelled in all other subjects and went on to become a medical doctor.

I think dyslexic people develop excellent visual skills despite their poor recognition of letters and words. Visual thinking is a not the normal way a person views the world and that is why I think most dyslexic people become geniuses. They are able to merge and intermingle knowledge in space. They utilise inductive reasoning as well, whereas people like me, use deductive reasoning. They don't do so well at school merely because they must be taught differently from other students. And the sooner that they can be diagnosed, the sooner that their potential will be unleashed.

As far as dyslexic geniuses go, I know of:
  • Albert Einstein
  • Thomas Edison
  • Alexander Graham Bell
  • Leonardo Da Vinci
