I'm working on publishing a school paper and it's getting to be quite of a challenge. I had read some works, edited most of it and rejected a few. I am having tons of problem with copyrighted content coming straight from the internet. Do you know of any videos or content that really talks about the important of writing your own article? I know my students has the skills if they are push to do the right thing. Any suggestions is appreciated.

Always remind your school students about the laws and rules when it comes to writing and publishing so they will learn. So when they publish in the future they won't violate any law. Copyrighting is a big law that a publisher to face that is why we should be careful and we should always make sure that everything that we will publish is made truly by ourselves, or if we will use something we should not forget to give a proper credits to the owner.

"Writing your own article" could mean a lot of things. But is shouldn't mean not getting idea from somewhere else.

I hate it when people copy and paste other people's ideas into their own writing, but since it's not adviced to write an article without proper research, and knowing that this research will get you across works that are copyright protected; I prefer reading and distilling an article, and then putting in your own writing what you understood of the work.
