Cell phones in classrooms

I don't think it's a great idea to let your students use, or even bring, their cellphones inside the classroom. They tend to lose focus on the discussion caused by their immediate desire to open their cell phones and do all sorts of fun stuff there. Let them use their phones during the break but be very strict about banning it during class hours.

Taking in instructions is key here.If a child obeys both the teacher and the patent or guardian, use of cellphones during class wouldn't occur.Well behaved children are able to carry their cellphones to class everyday without causing trouble. I agree, cellphones aren't the issue, children are.
I totally agree. In addition to this is the ability of the teacher to always catch the attention of his/her students, I believe having a boredom-free class where every students get to participate and enjoy class prevents them from having the urge to even have a glimpse of the cellphones.

There's no problem in bringing your phone in your classroom but we should be responsible when we will use it. Using your phone during your class may be distracting to your classmates and teachers. Mobile phones must be only used as a learning tool inside a classroom.

I think cellphones should be allowed in classrooms, as long as they're not being used actively to talk or something. Let's be honest, if a student wishes to violate the rules and do something on his phone, he will do it nonetheless even with cellphones being forbidden.

Cell phones in classrooms: Cellphones in classroom is really one of a distraction for a students specially those still in grade school. For me it is not adviseble for the student to use cellphone inside the classrooms. Some students can't focus on the discussion if they have in their hand the cellphone at their age but if in college students for me it is already acceptable to use.

I think younger students (high school below) should not be allowed to bring their phones in class, as they can become distracted. It might be okay for them to use them during breaks, but phones shouldn't be brought out at all during class hours.

Allowing students to use their cellphones in classroom is a bad idea because it can cause distraction. They can easily be distracted when their cellphones ring or vibrate. However, with the advent of smart phones students can also use their phones to browse the internet to find the information they need. They can also utilize their dictionary to facilitate their learning.

Students having cellphones inside the classroom is not a good idea. It is very distracting and can make students loose their focus and concentration on studying.
Listening carefully to what teachers are saying is very important in order to learn. More importantly, students may use their phones on cheating during exams and quizzes. As we all know, cellphones right now are very helpful in providing information. We can search thru the net for information we need and calculate difficult Math problems.

Students may just rely on this to pass their exams if they are allowed to use or bring their cellphones inside the classroom.

I think bringing cellphones at school shouldn't be a problem at all, but, teachers should always remind the students to use it responsibly (or only when they are allowed to). It's way easier to search all the information with the use of phones and there are many applications such as a dictionary to help the students to learn. Besides, books can cost too much for some students that's why it's more convenient to use phones since we all have our smart phone nowadays. Therefore, I don't think using cellphones in classrooms is a problem just as long as students know how to use it responsibly.

Cellphone have a lot advantages and disadvantages to students. Cellphones can be an educational tools like you can easily search using your mobile browser and take a picture of your note instead of writing it but the problems is the behavior of students. Some students use cellphone for cheating instead of reviewing their note they are tempted to look to their cellphones.
