All Ages Careers in physical education.

Most students take physical education as just another aspect of the learning routine. Teachers rarely advise students about the fact that physical education not all about depressurization but a whole area of study with career opportunities and prospects of its own. Students should be counselled on the career prospects of physical education. One can pursue their talent in a particular niche like racing and excel in life. Learning is not all about academics. It is multifaceted and if one is weak in one area, he or she can excel in another.

Interesting thought. Most people don't think of Physical Education or even Fitness and Wellness based jobs as something you go to college for... although such lucrative jobs like Athletic Training and Occupational Therapy exist within those realms. There's also Exercise Physiology. No, most people are counseled to go into Education and minor in Physical Education. In reality, it's as you say, there's a multi-faceted array of jobs that orbit around P.E., not just teaching classes, that can be tailored to the individual. Unfortunately, counselors never seem to give that kind of advice: that you should pursue your interests and make your own life.

Like Varerii said, most people who want to venture into a career in Physical Education in my country, has to go into Education and then minor into a Physical Education as well. There are limited options for people who want to take Physical Education as a career in itself. I can think of a lot of career opportunities for such people:
  • Those who are into sports can go into becoming a professional player. There's basketball, football, tennis and even golf.
  • Those who want to help other people to succeed in sports can go into a career as a coach.
  • Those people who strictly knows the rules of the game can go into being a referee or a game event organiser.
  • Those who want to venture into business can create products for people who play sports.
  • How about gym trainers? Those are legit jobs that are in-demand as well. There's also yoga and pilates.
And if schools are able to show these career options to students, they might be able to be happy in a career that they excel in.

This is a very good point, very often physical education doesn't get the importance that it deserves. A lot of our great sports talents started there and yet people still don't put it on the same level as the other subjects.
