All Ages Getting children interested in technology.

Children nowadays are influenced by technology so it's easy now make them interested into technology but what should we do is let them know the importance of technology, that we shouldn't always be into technology all the time.

I agree with you. It is best to guide and teach children in building a robot or a device using Lego sets with circuits and motors. Through that, they would be inspired to pursue a degree related to technology and also appreciate science and technology.

It is good to teach technology in children, but it should be moderated. Some kids nowadays have dry eyes because of abusing technology and playing gadgets instead of playing outdoor games. I believe it is still good to use books, hard copies and test papers instead of reading and writing on laptops. In addition to that, kids learning the internet might be prone to be dependent on Google or other search engines instead of manually searching at the library or going out to explore and conduct experiments.

Children are influenced to like technology, the moment they can understand well enough how to use it. After all, technology is fun and has all these enjoyable games. It isn't a difficuly quest to make a child like technology.

The problem should be on how to instill the proper attitute towards technology in the minds of children. Technology should be used to make life better, not to take up most of the time in your life. The point is, time must not be spent more on technology than on people, friends, loved ones, etc.

Technology is good if we use it in the right way and that is the important thing that we should teach our children. We should always be in control of it and not the other way around.

In today's world children are acclimated to all digital things. It is important that parents monitor their children's activity on different gadgets not letting them become too addictive to it by setting a certain amount of time to spend on them.Parent's job is to make sure that the time spent on the gadgets it is useful to children helping them in school and in their future profession as well.

Technology is part of our life and existence now. Whatever technology is causing right now, good or bad, it is now part of our daily living. Introducing technology to children cannot be avoided. Its either parents of the children will lead them to getting interested in technology or technology itself will do the introduction. No one can stop technology and its advancement. All we have to do as users of technology is put it into good and proper use. Demostrate to children how technology should be properly be used. Technology is very harmful to us and to children if we don't put it into good use.

I have a 2 year old niece who have loves to watch videos on Youtube and she learns a lot from it. I think the best way getting for the children to be interested in technology is letting them watch and explore through various videos and getting them hyped and curious about it, which piques their interest.

I had a nephew who grew up with technology. He knows how to play with his tablet games like angry birds and plants vs. zombies when he was also 2 years old.

I do believe that it is easier to get our children to be interested with technology. I think children now is better than adults when it comes to technology.

For a kid of this generation I think technology is already a part of her/him since the day they realize their existence, so our part as adults is mainly to guide them through and channel their energy in the most positive way possible, in order for a kid to have that drive in some field all he/she needs is to grow confidence and never hear word like it complicated or it's above your age or other expressions of that kind, that can ruin the chance of that kid being another great inventor of some kind just from a lazy moment of a parent or any other adult that have some sort of credibility according to the kid.

Kids are naturally curious and will try to explore technology if exposed to it at an early age. Unlike grown-ups who have a set mind and are no longer interested in exploring what is around them, kids want to learn and discover as much as possible. I, therefore, find it wise to introduce kids to technology to assist them to get on it early on.

Nowadays, it is very easy for children to get hooked to technology. My opinion is that we should minimize it in a way that it should not be harmful to the children but maximize it in its beneficial use.

Children nowadays can learn modern technology at their early age. However, children don't have enough self discipline to restrain from over use of technology. They can get easily addicted to it and it's not good for them.

I don't think we need to point our kids toward technology, i believe that these day's kids already interested in technolog, they have this will to learn about it and i guess that it's something nice and good as long as they don't get addicted to it , here comes the role of the parent to supervise them and help them having a healthy relation with technology including internet and social media !

Technology is all around us, but in many shapes and forms. Children will quickly develop an interest in computers since it's the norm these days, but about about building things? Moving things, robots and cars. I'm thinking that by playing with the more complex Lego sets, with motors and circuits, children can develop an attraction towards technology in general, not just computers.

What do you think, how can we point our kids towards technology?

Getting them interested in the ones that would be useful in teaching them something useful and not not bad stuffs because the use of technology has its positive impact and negative impact as well. And from my understanding and experience as a parent, kids learn the bad stuff easier than good ones.

I don't imagine it being very difficult or needing to be specifically taught. You have a point in that technology is so commonplace these days. My six-year-old nephew owns an iPad, in fact. Kids will naturally go the route of technology given the generation they're in. There's no need to teach them in my opinion. They'll see the computers, they'll see the iPhone, they'll see the PlayStation, and they'll want one for themselves. If not within your on home, they'll see it at a friend's place.

The biggest challenge is with those kids that don't have access to these gadgets when growing up. These sets of kids will always think of how they can cope when in the midst of others in school learning how to use the various computer gadgets to learn. I believe more should be done for them to get educated through technological means.
