There are popular late night shows on tv here that some students lack sleep because they watch the show. That is one topic in the campus so they feel like an outcast in the conversation if they have not watched the said late night show. Teachers are having a hard time in telling the students to sleep early so they will not be drowsy in the classroom but to no avail. Maybe there should be a communication with the parents because it is only the parents who can make their children sleep early.

Watching late night TV show is good after working in late night, which also a great past time in my part like watching about documentaries and horror documentaries and its give me ideas, chills and etc. I love it but its give me so many pimples ahahahah but I love it thanks.

Watching late at night is a pass time for people who are working and going back home late night, its their way to feel relax. But if you are a student especially kids it is not right, you need to sleep early.

Late night tv show for me is not that popular anymore. Because of the existence of internet most of the time a person spend more time on their mobile phone instead of watching TV.

Sleep deprivation is a very serious matter. Teachers and parents alike should constantly emphasize the possible health, social, and educational risks the students will encounter if they continue this kind of behavior. This will surely damage their memory and ability to comprehend, as well as them feeling sleepy during the day.

I agree with this and it may have a bad effect to a students while they are in class but I think the parents also couldn't control their child if the doesn't want to sleep yet but ofcourse the parents should guide their child with this kind of matter. They should explain to their childs how may it affect their studies specially when they are still young. The teacher must not have a problem with it because it was the childs choice to stay up in late night. The teacher must give some disciplinary action if the student was caught sleeping inside the classroom so the students should learn about it and they wouldn't do it again.

Parents should really intervene when their kids use the television excessively to the point of not having enough sleep. Their child will be the one to suffer the consequences after. It would be best if they advised them on the things that they should and should not do.

I used to watch late night shows when i was Still in high school , it wasn't a good idea , I was very drowsy through the lessons in class till evening , I could even sleep the whole day (especially on Saturdays) but it then came to me that I could catch up via the Internet or by use of offline videos.
MY parents were not happy about me sleeping late at night, my concentration went down, and so my parents talked me out of it .

Even without late night TV shows students will sleep late because of their phones, they have YouTube and other sites to watch from. They have friends that they chat with and they play games. It's hard for a teacher to tell their students to sleep early because that is a parent's responsibility. A teacher can only write a letter to the parents informing them that their child sleeps in class. I slept in class a lot too because I was up all night doing things I couldn't normally do in the day because I was in school for hours and I needed my creative outlet. My teachers informed my parents but they just let me sleep most of the time because my grades weren't badly affected by it. I was still doing great despite it.

Watching late night tv show: Tv shows is good pass time yes but for the students there should be a limitation in terms of hours specially if it is already late at night. Students need to have enough sleep for the preparation of the class next morning. Sleeping late at night is not good in health not only in students but to all of us. We should consider our health as one of our capital in our daily task.

As a rule of thumb, until a student is around eighteen years of age, I don't believe in letting younger students stay up later than midnight during school nights. Not only will it affect their growth, it will likely also affect their performance during classes. The students should be free to do as they please if it's the weekend or a holiday, but otherwise, they need their rest.

Nevertheless, there are days when the students really just need to unwind. In those situations, watching those kinds of shows can actually help.

It's amazing how much a poor nights sleep can impact overall health, and when that's a prolonged thing over a long time it's even more pronounced. I wouldn't be too happy if my students were staying up late on a regular basis to watch tv. It can really impact academic performance.

This concern should be raised and discussed with parents during conferences. One of the major roles of the teacher is to act like a second parent. In addition to that, you can also discussed if watching the television is a family culture or provisioned by the parent. Sometimes, it might also be the family's bonding time together after spending a day outside at school or work. Students also feel the need to be cool or to know the latest trends so they watch television at night and discuss these tv shows with friends. It is important to emphasize that students should not build their approval of friendship based on such scenarios.

In our case here, children don't really like late night TV shows, maybe, because it doesn't suit their taste. But, most college students that I know spend their night making their projects and assignments while watch these shows. It's like a driving force that keeps them awake.

I think it's best to set rules at home when to watch and not on television shows especially in evenings. The parents should not allow their children since they have classes on the next day. It's only a matter of discipline and prioritizing activity. These will also develop a child sense of responsibility at an early age. It's nice to see children who comes early on school in energize mood.

I still remember when I was still studying in college that I used to watch some late nights TV shows because I was really fun of watching them since it was really a topic in the school for tomorrow. I know that it is not really advisable to sleep late at night but it was mainly because of being entertained for a while since it was really one of my favorite TV shows before which is really great to have.

I always make it a point to sleep early at night. So seldom that I watch TV shows. Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise.

I think late night shows are good for college students only. But for kinder to high school students I would not recommend it to them. They might go sleepy in class if they watch late night shows.

Due to my very tight schedule in my work I rarely watch for now some late night show because after my offline work I feel tired already and it seems that I need to take some rest and sleep early for the next day. I can only watch some late night shows very often whenever I don't have any work from my office and I really find it very entertaining to have.

I think it depends on student to student and the age of the student. If the student is in their final years of high school, or in college than maybe late night television isn't a problem. Also, if there's a late night show that a student really enjoys, it can always be recorded and watched at a different time. Sleep is very important for the student and late night television should not interfere with the student's ability to concentrate during the following school day. The bottom line is that students should definitely be getting 8 hours of sleep per night and if anything is interfering with that, it should be cut out of the schedule.
