Description

Without being taught how to do it, students often have great difficulty making sense of messages they encounter when reading multiple texts. Students often read multiple texts as if they were separate from each other, not noticing contradictions and complexity. Students need disciplinary knowledge, strategic knowledge, a strong purpose for reading, and critical thinking skills to successfully read multiple texts. This Web seminar will explore the "why" and "how" of teaching multiple texts across all content areas in middle and high school.
