I think it is important for children to learn about wild plants. Some wild plants can even be endemic to that country and it is important to protect them. Other plants can be medically beneficial to people and others can be poisonous.
 
I quite agree with you. Knowledge on how to identify medicinal plants is important. It will help students in case they need it for treatment. Practical and it can save money.
