I remember I took three semesters of Religion classes because I would like to know more about different religions, as well as Christianity itself, plus Religion was part of the elective class I had to take in order to graduate from the Nursing program. I went to a private school, which was a Christian school because it offered a lot of religious classes. I took at least one Religion class every year to make sure I understood about the Bible and other Religious beliefs. What fascinated me was that there were a lot of different kind of religion with different belief systems. Was Religion Education important to you in school?

Sadly they did not put much emphasis on religion education in my local area. I do believe that religion helps in building a better personality and makes you ponder more about your life, what is right and wrong, and generally just make you a whole new person.[DOUBLEPOST=1392350993][/DOUBLEPOST]Anybody else? I really think education on religion is equally as important to the others subjects that are highly prioritized.

Religious education is sort of important to me. I believe understanding the religions of the world allows a greater understand of the world in general. You can tell a lot about a region of the world by what they believed religiously. Religious education gives great insight.

Yeah I know people who have turned their life around and found themselves after turning to religion.

At a young age, I didn't care much about religion class honestly. I thought of it as an easy pass, but as I grew older, I began to appreciate religion.

So whether religion education is important or not, it depends on the effect it had on you. Honestly, it didn't have a big effect on me. It gave me knowledge of Christianity, but it didn't form a very strong belief on me.

I do believe in religion education, having the true meaning of religion is what makes an impact on you in your life in the first place.
It is very important for young kids and teens growing up. Because learning about Christianity is the key to having a better belief.
We all need to set out to reach Religion/Christianity at what it truly is.

All though many refuse to touch on this topic. Religion is a big part of the human society, it is something unavoidable. While many people have there own views and opinions, it is good to educate ourselves on all aspects of life. I personally don't like certain topics but I at least try to understand a bit about it. Religion is in the top five discussion's all over the world, that simply means it is very important.

Education about religions in general is very important to me. I don't want to be clouded by my own pre-conceived ideals and beliefs and judge other religions just because I barely know anything about them or their people's way of life. I want to take in the good things about other religions and see if we can meet each other halfway and arrive at a common ground. I mean, aren't all religions promoting the same thing? We all want to lead good lives so as to please our Creator. We all want to have a meaningful existence. Hence, religion. Just think of it as undertaking different paths only to end up in the same destination.

Religious education was very important to me because most times it has ties with cultural ideals. I am very big on diversity as well as respect and tolerance of other cultures and beliefs. If you study a persons religious ideals then you come to better understand that person and why they live the way they live in most cases. Plus, we are taught from birth what to believe by our families. So is it true faith or is it a taught faith. Kind of like keeping your elbows off the table or washing your hands after using the bathroom. The way to know is to learn of other religious beliefs and see where it takes you as well as grow from it.

I have never had any religious education in school, moral and value instructions as the called it was the nearest to religious instructions. However, when I went to college I took religious education as a credit course. I enjoyed it every much. I personally believe that we need this in our society today. It would helps acquire stronger social and moral values apart from the core beliefs of your faith.

In where I grew up, religious education is embedded in all levels. Although this subject is only exclusive to catholic schools, religious organizations reach out to public schools to teach catechism to students at an early age. In the formative years of all students, it is important that they get exposed to their respective religions. This gives them information on the history, important events, religious activities, etc. Although this varies from countries and respective beliefs, our religion would always be the foundation and core of our faith.

For me its very important. We will learn the words of God and apply it to become a better individual. We should know that our life here in earth is just a trial.

For me it's important. We want our children to grow their relationship and develop a strong faith in God while they are in school.

Every education subject is very important. Most especially the subject of religious education. You will learn the there is a God who created you and has a purpose for your life.
