All Ages Does religion and ethics go hand in hand?

Ethics is one of the subjects that we had to complete in college. So were four religion subjects. These subjects were separate from each other but do you think that there is a connection between the two? Is ethics closely related to religion? Or, can a religious person automatically be considered as ethical? Can an ethical person be considered automatically as religious? Or are they more far apart than they may seem.

Can an ethical person be considered automatically as religious? - No, since there are ethical people who are not religious and some might be atheist.
Can a religious person automatically be considered as ethical? - No, being religious should be also being ethical since being a real religious, you will follow the good wills of God. But that was not the case/truth for all religious people.

Good ethics should follow if your religious. What the church teach and preach should be imbibed in action. This is the logical process, but reality speaks otherwise. Some may have a religious stand as strong as a brick wall and still display immoral act in the community.
