All Ages Do you pray before and after class?

Do you pray before and after class? I'm not just talking about religion subjects, I'm talking about all subjects. When I studied in a Catholic school in college, we almost always prayed in our subjects before we would start and at the end of the class. I guess it helped get the attention of the students and helped set the tone of the class. It's a great practice and I think it should be done in other schools as well, Catholic or not.

I don't pray during school session back then, I pray before and during a meal, I pray before I sleep, but I never pray in class before. But I think it's a great idea! Helping the whole class to get into the "mood" to focus, yeah, I think it's great for this. I think there's alternatives though. Some places that didn't pray start a teaching session by asking students to do a recap of what they learn yesterday, or read out the paragraphs in books one by one......

Yep, in the University that I graduated, this was done after the opening prayer. :)

Still, it depends on the instructor whether to start and and the class with a prayer or not. Most of the instructors in non-catholic universities don't pray before and after class. But take note, isn't it that before a seminar or a program starts, we always start with a prayer? Why not classes too?

At school, it has been our practice to pray before and after class. In this way, we can ensure that God himself is with us throughout our lessons and will aid the students in accomplishing their tasks. This is a great practice because it sets the students on the right path.

One can do silent prayer before or after the class if it is not allowed in the classroom. Prayer from the heart is also heard by God.

Yes. It gives me strength to my work and it calms me when I do the prayer. Give me a trigger to do the things that I must do.

Of course! and we should all do, we should acknowledge that all the knowledge comes from the devine creator and thank Him for it at all times.

It's not a usual practice but some lecturers take it upon themselves to ask someone to pray before the lecture begins most especially at the beginning of a new academic session but it's like one lecturer in ten, well i pray before my exams.

Yeah that's true, when we bring him into our day most especially at the start of our class, it will make us feel his presence and they will be some eagerness to take the lecture seriously.

I do not practice prayer on and after class. Make no mistake, I believe in God and I make it a point for students to understand that it is through him that we can truly depend on. What I missed by praying, I tried to fulfill by preaching about it.

I came from a catholic school so we are obliged to start our day with a rosary, start subjects with a prayer and also end it with a prayer, so its like we should pray in everything the we do. But when I transfer to a university, everything's change, we don't pray anymore, we only pray on our self. That's why I think praying before and after class is just done on a religious schools.

The schools I went to were all non-sectarian, and we did not pray before and after class. We only pray during the flag ceremony every Monday, or if the class is going to eat food together. I think it's a practice employed by Catholic schools. I know some schools in our country that broadcasts the Angelus and the three o'clock prayer through the school's PA system, and all students are required to join the prayer.

I live in a religious country where I think every school starts and ends its days with prayers. We thank God for our talent, knowledge, health, safety, etc. and pray for the continuation of those things. This is an easy yet necessary routine to enhance the bond between us and our God while also educating students of how everything comes from God which is why we should always ask for those things to God, thus giving students awareness of how important their religions are which is in accordance with their parents' will. :angelic:
