Overview In this lesson, the students will be made familiar with the different sentence forms. It will start by activating their previous knowledge using lines from a movie. Then, they will be introduced to the lesson on sentence forms using various resource materials. Once done, they will identify sentence forms found in a print material of their choice. Afterwards, they will construct their own sentences of different forms by writing a letter to a classmate whom they have not spoken to for a long time. Finally, the students will state the importance of the lesson they have just learned to their life three years from now. |

| Preparing for Take-off! The teacher will activate the students' prior knowledge by showing them some of the most popular lines from the Avengers Series. Then, the students will be asked to state their observation regarding the feelings or emotions incorporated in each line and the sentence construction itself. Once done, the teacher must emphasize the idea of sentences having certain forms that depend on the intended meaning or purpose and go together with the appropriate punctuation mark. Afterwards, the students will be asked to fill in the KNOW part of the KWL Chart answering the question, "What do I know about sentence forms?".     (click the image to enlarge) |
| Discovering New Territories! The students will now be made familiar with the lesson on sentence forms: declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory. Before listening to the song, reading the course presentation, or watching the video, they will be asked to fill in the WANT part of the KWL chart answering the question, "What do I want to know about sentence forms?" Then, they will proceed to the lesson proper. Once the lesson acquisition is done, the teacher must process the newly obtained information of the students. The students must also answer the short quiz that follows.

| Exploring Beyond the Stars! The students will now be given the task to practice what they have learned by identifying sentence forms found in various print materials such as newspaper articles, magazines, journals, blogs, etc. In order to have enough materials for the class, the teacher should ask the students beforehand to bring their own print material for the lesson. In this activity, they will have identify the sentence forms present by highlighting 5 samples for each form, and making use of a legend. The teacher should first give an example that students will follow. Once they are done, they will be asked to check each others' work. Then, they will complete the LEARN part of the KWL Chart by answering the question, "What have I learned about the topic?" |
| Soaring to Greater Heights! Now, the students will apply what they have learned by constructing their own sentences in making a letter to a classmate whom they have not spoken to for a long time. The letter should have the all the sentence forms and must follow correct format and structure. Once done, the students must personally give the letter to the one they wrote it for. The one who will receive the paper must check the work of his or her classmate by highlighting the different sentence forms present. |
| Landing Back On Earth! The students will summarize what they have learned from the lesson by answering the question prompt orally. They should be given a 1-2 minute thinking time by the teacher. So What? - What takeaways from the lesson will be important to know three years from now? Why? |
