In the Hebrew Genesis account, the Yahwist writer(J), in Genesis 2:6, tells us that God "fashioned" man(Adam) from the reddish hematite tinged red top-soil of the earth("...and YHWH 'loyim fashioned ha-adamfrom the apar of ha-adam-ah). The picture that jumps to the mind from these words is derived from Prophet Jeremiah's imagery of God as the heavenly potter. The priestly writer (P) is careful to inform us in Genesis 5:1 that Adam was an artistic reproduction; a portrait of God in clayey medium; that is, he pictures God, in creation, as a creative artist. "A Portrait of God in Human form," this essentially is the meaning of the concept of The Incarnation.
