  • In the academic year of 2023-2024, EdChat is undergoing significant changes. We've transitioned our previous community forums, resources, lesson plans, and services into a legacy area, now led by the community.

The Educational Chat Network is proud to introduce peer-reviewed articles, podcasts, and video media with scholarly precision. Our goal is to foster academic discussions in a manner unmatched by any other online platform.

Starting from September 1st, 2023, registration will require your full name and offer the option to submit your ORCID iD.

As always, our registered members can freely express their thoughts and feelings by writing directly on our homepage.
If you have created resources for online teaching in the last year, please feel free to share them here with your colleagues. We know it has been a challenging time for many of you and we are working on some new online resources.
Tutors: Please ensure you complete the tutor profile fully, delete anything that is not required so they can be approved. If your education history isn't completed then your profile cannot be approved.
Thank you to my team, I think we have proven the model of the site and demonstrated it effectively. Sad to disband, perhaps we'll say furloughed for now. EdChat remains open for public use and submissions.
    Update:
Beta testing of new activities environment to improve usability.
Reviews for activities are coming, plus continued improvements to existing lesson plans.
    Key Stage 2 has been divided into KS2.i (7-9) & KS2.ii (9-11).
    Update:
Detailed feedback has been provided for everyone for one of your lessons, please try to apply the principles throughout your materials.
If you would like a particular lesson reviewed please send me a message.
    Update:
    • Recommendation to build your lesson plans and activities on the EdChat Network for styling support.
    • Advanced editor features. I am still refining some of these features but here is an overview:
    • Make the editor full screen and get stuck into a world of style.
    • Find new features under the insert option (...)

    • Team members can use the sandbox I have started here to test new features, simply reply to the post.
    • The help page on this does have a little code but it's nothing excessive and this will always be your point of reference:
    • I will set a time to run a demo for team members who would like some support with using the new editor features.

Lessons can now be as simple as teacher click, explain, student do.
Click and explain keeps it simple and easy for all educators without academic backgrounds, homeschoolers or those teaching out of their specialty.
    Todays update:
Improvements to lesson plan area, prioritised core curriculum. Less generalised lesson planning.
Currently working on improvements to Overview and Time Duration input to improve the way lessons display.
Considering implementing selectable curriculum links to help with lesson planing ?
    Weekend update:
Simplified lesson plan section, separating articles to be released at a later stage.
Added forum icons for each subject.
    Todays update:
    • Activities area added for English, Maths and Science activities that are not full lessons.
      - Great for building good quality games and activities that can be completed with relatively limited resources.
    • Released number line intro lesson. ??
    • Corrected highlight error on insert on editor.
    • Increased maximum attachments in lesson plans.
    Enjoy your weekend everyone!
    Todays update:
Save as a draft is now selected by default for lesson plans and article writing, making it easier to save and preview the content before submitting.

I have also opened the resources area for uploading general classroom resources, display resources ect. Also a great place to add your worksheets and items as standalone resources ?
